PsyVamp -> maso Doms (4/2/2007 4:50:34 AM)

I was reading some posts last night and this morning on "Ask a Switch" and I just wanted to say that it makes me feel so much more "normal" to hear from so many other Dominant sado/maso(s).

MsBearlee -> RE: maso Doms (4/2/2007 6:15:29 AM)

An interesting thread!

Yesterday I received a note from a 47 yr old, experienced…she said, submissive who’d met a man recently and was dismayed to have found his profile on another site.  She’d met him here, I believe…where the profile she found was Dom, but found him elsewhere as a Switch…and was more than a little upset.
She said I seemed nice and she now only wanted to meet friends and could we be so?

I suggested she look up ‘bearlee’ here…and went on to say things like:

While some may not be as ‘forthright’ within a profile as I have been…many people DO have duel profiles.  I don’t consider myself a ‘switch’…and so have both a ‘Dominant’ (though I call myself a Top) profile and a submissive one.  I do not see the conflict.

Perhaps your friend IS Dominant, but occasionally likes to bottom.  Generally, options are either Dominant or submissive or switch.  Most people think a switch likes both to be in control and to give up control; often with the same person.  But there are many people who like to ‘beat’ others, but are not so interested in control and others who like to nearly always be in control…but sometimes like the physicality of being bound or beaten.  <shrugs>  There are all kinds of ways people do stuff.

I cannot imagine how difficult it is to describe yourself in one profile where the very definitions are so contradictory!  A maso Dom?  LOL  I’ve known a couple…and they were wonderful Sadists, too!  Heh heh heh

Anyway, that's just me.  I wish people were not so rigid, (but don’t we teach that which we must learn?)

LMAO

Well, it could be an interesting thread.  I've known a couple of very dominant Dominants who are also masochistic.  Well, they like physical pain, anyway; I've never known one who was at all into emotional pain; IE humiliation, etc.

To me, this is like having a Foot Fetish…it has nothing to do with Dominance.

Whadya think?

WhiplashSmile -> RE: maso Doms (4/2/2007 8:02:34 AM)

Being a Dom/me is a personality trait and not some position roll of top/bottom in scene play.

If everybody firmly believes that the Dom/me should always be the top, then there should be Hell of a lot of submissives out there recieving body massages along with floggings.

I'm a bit of a SadoMaso type myself, personally right now I have this longing for somebody walk on my back, flog my back, perform a little impact play on my back or something a long the painful lines right now.  Why? because to me it would bring me pleasure like a good back massage.

The thing about being a SadoMaso is to not play Switch Games with a Submissive in the Middle of a scene.  In short can your Maso needs until later, do not slam on the breaks and change gears with a Submissive in the middle of a scene.  That's not Kewl at all.

When a Dom/me is taking the bottom, it's because they want to be there.  Has nothing to do with D/s Dynamics such as submission.  If you are a sub and your Dom/me is a SadoMaso type, you must view their requests for pain the same as if it were for a message.  If you are willing to be a submissive playing the top role in massages, you should also being willing to take the top in other activities that Damn Well please your Dom/me.  After all is that not part of your function in life, to please your Dom/me?  LOL...   Your Dom/me should have control over you from the bottom.  They will express what they hell they want or don't want.  Will correct you!  They will work at training you in what to do.  When giving your Dom/me the pleasure of pain, Trust in your Dom/me to know that they are still in control of it all.

There is probally a lot I could write about Switch Play or Dom/me couple play, in a few follow up posts.

Well, for this thread, perhaps we should keep it to Maso Doms:  Dominants who enjoy physical pain, to be specific.

I know one who throughly enjoys Sounds...though I know they don't really hurt and...well...he does CBT on himself, too.   Of course, I never saw it...I was submissive to him.  LOL

There are plenty of us around. If you happen to attend Southwest Leather Conference and the Dance of Souls at the end, you'll see lots of us. Needles and hooks and drums, oh my.

The thing about being SadoMaso is that the Dom/me Picks the activities they enjoy!  Subs must deal with things they may or may not enjoy.  LOL...  There are aspects of CBT torture I would not enjoy myself personally.  Mainly anything dealing with my Balls.  There are certain types of pain that only bring pleasure, other types of pain simply don't.

Being SadoMaso does not imply all Pain is Good pain for us SadoMaso types. Think this is Good point to make early on in this thread.

This is actually one of the distinctions I make in my head about sub/slave masos and Dom/Master masos. D/Ms often dictate what pain happens, when, where, etc. We still control the situation even as we give up control about the sensation or experience. subs/slaves are often expected to endure if they don't like it, simply for the D/M's pleasure. :-)

That does put an even better distinction on the Dominant maso.. WE control the type and level of pain administered.
I don't think I'll get to the Southwest Leather Conference although I will admit to being very intrigued now,  I'll have to see if I can move things around.

Oh, and to WhiplashSmile:  I agree with not switching in the middle of a scene.  In fact, I will agree to the point that I have different people for different uses at this time.

I've only got the one profile, dominant.  I would never put up a sub profile because it would be a lie.  I just cannot find it anywhere in me to be submissive.
I like a certain amount of pain, but not always and I am very picky about who I choose to "top" me so that I know that I am controling the situation the whole time.
If someone thought they were getting a sub instead of a domme, they would be very disappointed with me - lol

lateralist1 -> RE: maso Doms (4/2/2007 3:43:38 PM)

People are complicated.
I am a dominant woman.I like to be in control.
I just happen to like some sensations that to others might be painful they are not to me.
If I am involved in a relationship with a submissive person I expect to train them to please me.
So many people in the lifestyle seem to be stereotypical about what sensual activities a Dom/me ought to enjoy.
We are all different.
We enjoy different things.
It's a submissives role once accepted by a Dom/me, to learn how to please his/her Dominant.
It's a Dominants role to teach them.
I don't top or bottom because I don't play.

~Quicky~

I run across pussy so tight it peels the flesh off my winky and I like it! Does that make me a maso Dom or just real pervy?

NakedOnMyChain -> RE: maso Doms (4/2/2007 5:34:17 PM)

I come from the opposite side of this, as someone who started out submissive and later discovered my dominant and sadistic streak.  My submissive side is still a tad larger, but the dominant side is clearly there.  I'll admit that the "Ask A Switch" section has helped the adjustment.  It's helped me really stay on top of things (pun intended).

TigressFL -> RE: maso Doms (4/2/2007 6:05:26 PM)

So I was at an event in Lakeland, FL. last year when a FemDom friend of mine announced she was looking for Firplay victims. I stood up, took of my shirt and bra, laid down on the table and said something to the effect of "Do me, Baby"! She smiled brightly and light the torch! The entire time she kept checking with me to see if it was too much or not enough. When she got to drumming and hitting the same spot over and over I slet her know. She moved the torches and all was good. She was not top or dom, I was not top or dom. "We" were simply poeple that enjoyed firplay. It feels like hot fingers dancing down my skin and almost puts me to sleep, she just digs putting fire on people... nothing more, nothing less. What is done has nothing to do with the price of tea in China (D/s or M/s), "How it is done makes all the difference".

Yeah, on the flip side of this, I know many sadistic slaves....who serve by giving the Master exactly what they want. Best moment in a scene ever:
Master, on cross, bare torso, back raw and close to blood.
slave, naked, with blood-knot flogger stepping in to whisper, "Can I hurt you some more, Master?"

I have to admit that until this point the idea of a maso Dom turned me completely off.  This is hot, though...gives me a different way of thinking when He does want this.
