I am curious who has and has not read the book.  Don't spoil the ending for those who haven't.

For those who have, here is an interesting article...

I haven't read it.
When I go to foreign countries I try to be on my best behavior.
I'll put a ciggarette out on the heel of my boot and put the butt in my pocket instead of littering.

popeye,

You should read the book, it isn't about the behavior of American tourists...

Whereas, the United States is one large ashtray for your abuse?

Sinergy, of course not, the U.S. is my urinal.

Michael, and just why should I read this book?
If the author is trying to push "political correctness" he can get stuffed!

It is actually a pro American book written about Vietnam under the French.  It details what we should have done there and has interesting parallels for Iraq.  You will like it, one of the ugly Americans is a loudmouthed Senator and one of the good ones is a soldier.

Great read and can be had in most used bookstores.

You know, I haven't read that book in about 20 years.  It would be a good re-read.  The only part I really remember was that we (the US) was shipping in tons of food for the starving people, but communist agents were relabeling the food, so it seemed to the people that the USSR was actually aiding them.  But you were on the Communist side in that conflict right Crappy?

Lucky,

Two things, my "crappy" name isn't the insult you think it is, that name was far more respected than yours will ever be here so keep on using it but it is the same as calling me Sir or Stud.

As for your other asinine remark, well it just shows at what level you think.

Its because they're men.  Its like the contest "whose got the biggest penis"  Except they cant just whip down their pants and figure it out.. they've got to get into pissing contest about OTHER things.  So, Lucky dog either has a really small one and is trying to over compensate................... OR.......... he's got a big one and wants to show it off the world.  God only knows.

But i've noticed that guys who go around spouting that their penis is large, generally have a small one.  I'm going to go with Lucky having a small one, since he's acting like he's a big dick.

Now......... as for that contest.  Would you gentleman be so kind and drop your pants now?

P.S. Michael - never read the book.  Sounds political.  The title does make me think of american tourists ......

and on a political note - it also makes me think of how the world begs for help and as soon as they get it - degrades the US for giving it

The book was about how America is not very effective at propaganda, and basically gets falsely maligned.  Because, we are required to always tell the truth, while those we oppose have no such compulsion at all.  And we mostly act above board, while again those we face do not.  Even though we were actually trrying to help people, they did not know it, and the USSR was able to steal the credit.  I do not think a question is a remark, though I found another question you will hurl insults instead of answer.  But again I will ask you.  You were against the USA in Vietnam right?  You seem to have bought into the Psi Ops explained in the book.  The same thing is being done today, and it is clear which side you are on.  Crappy, you choose the name.   I just think it fits you.  And I am sure you are very respected here.

Do you really want a cock shot Devils lil sister?  I guess I can send you one if you want.

Americans often give the appearance of being ignorant about what goes on beyond their borders.

Slaveluci, well thankyou!
I try. It's pretty easy with this lot though.
Who do you think has the "biggest dick" here, Michael or the other guy, "Tiny?"
