Yes, I know the subject line is melodramatic. I was thinking today about a situation that has happened to me before and could be interesting to discuss.

How many of you have more than one screen name online and sometimes find yourself running into the same people under their alternate screen names as well? Ever try to block or ignore someone cause you truly didn't like them only to have them pop up under a different name and contact you under your different name so neither of you knows that you already know each other? Isn't that awkward when you realize who they are?

Talk amongst yourselves :)

Oh sure.

It's best when it's someone has made a big proclamation about "Leaving the lifestyle forever" only to return with a new name.

This is one of the reasons I never block or put anyone on ignore.  It encourages them to try and reach for my attention.  A non response is best.

Multiple screen names is the ultimate permission for people to play silly games with relationships online.  Oddly enough, I've never seen someone be happy when they implement it.

I don't have multiple screen names. Well, that are active at once. I do have a history here at MistessFireBDSM, but that profile isn't active. My other off-CM screen names are very similar to this one, too. It just makes life easier for me.

There is one man who introduces himself to us on a regular basis, even though we have been over things with him before, and it is agreed among all of us that he would not be a good fit here. It never ceases to amaze me! He kills his profile for a bit, then when he is back on, he is back with new fervor... and no common sense! His picture is attatched... as if we could forget who he is!

Would it be better if he was good at lying...? i don't know...

This is sort of along the same lines... A Domme friend showed me correspondence she had with a sub boy who seemed very interested in her. The night before it was time to meet, he had a religious experience instead. i mean seriously, had a religious expereince.... one he wanted to share with her... telling her about his sins... and how she could be saved too... the look on her face that day sends me into gales of laughter even now! Maybe a month went by before this same boy approched me... wanting to be friends. i side stepped the whole thing, but i have always wondered if this was his twisted way of trying to redeem the sinners... so i have to ask, "Has anyone else had this experience?" To answer the OP's question, yes, i think that could be awkward. Master's dorei

I only have one profile here contrary to popular belief. I have profiles elsewhere but all using the same name.
Ive had several experiences of people popping up under new names to harass or try their luck and yep it can be annoying.

Yes....Many times after I am blocked...I will respond back using another one of my profiles (Brownsugasub69,lottamulatto4U or browngash4cash)  Many times we will then meet..And sometimes after a blowjob or a fucking it is then that I am  questioned about my lack of a vagina and if I am actually from Nigeria.

All my profiles have the same name and pictures. Considering I can't lie to save my self I find it easier to not even bother.

Nope.

I am who I am.

I haven't used a screen name or multiple names since 1993 I think.

As long as they tell me i know them under a different nik i have no problem.  i have chatted in different places and have used different names and i always told others who i was.  If they don't then it can be assumed they are playing some kind of game, one i would have no interest in, i would see it as deceptive.

i have seen people post in the forums and they say upfront they are someone else posting in a different nik because of the nature of their post - this is ok, i can understand they may be embaressed to present their problem having others know who they really were - especially seeing how hard people can be on posters who present problems or difficulties.

Amen!!!  i have one email box, he has the password.  One screen name, his choice, he has the password. Etc.

And what's really funny is when one knows the truth, but asks the other, and the other dances around the truth as if one is too stupid to know a spade is a spade, or undeserving the truth because one simply isn't important enough.

Wee, I have lots of different ussernames, mostly because the ones I choose for one site are not available on another. But, I have no interest in such games, so, bleh

A couple of pesky people have done the shifting profile thing on me, but since they are people I don't want to talk to anyway, they usualy get bored after being ignored for a while :D

In fact, ignoring people on the 'net seems to be the most effective method. It's like webMace :D

There is one screen name (raevnn) that is used for interacting with anything and anyone who would accept my *full* life (including the fact that I'm enslaved to my Daddy) and another that I use for a uber public blog and emailing my parents and sending out resumes and such.

Other than that, no - I don't have oodles of screen names... I'd never remember them all.

I actually have 3 screen names: one for work, one for family and one for any sort of "personals" sites that I may belong to. It makes it easier for me to keep things straight.

I have a friend on my game site that has used so many names and cybered with so many women that he can't keep them straight. He has also posed as a lesbian with one of his names and had some fun with the ladies. I don't understand all the games but some seem to enjoy it.

I have 2 screen names on here because "who" I am, or feel I am, changed about 2 years ago after being on the site for a little while and I felt a new name was appropriate at that time. I still log onto the old one sometimes just to see if anyone's written (mostly people who knew me from back then but never transferred over correspondance to the new name.) But I've actually encountered (quite often) people who have one profile written as though they are a dom, another as though they are a sub, and another as though they a switch. I also have met people who have different names on every site so "meeting" them and deciding you don't want to talk anymore for whatever reason on one site doesn't mean you'll know it's the same person when they approach you somewhere else. To be fair, I haven't had too many people do this intentionally as I am guilty of using non-DominaSmartass names on other places, especially sites like okcupid that are kink friendly but mostly vanilla. I've definitely been approached by the same person a few times on a vanilla site as on here and I'm always the one who realizes it first because I have different IM names that I use to protect my privacy. If I don't know someone all that well I will give them one IM address until I'm more certain I want them having my real one. I know that's what the "block" feature is for, but I just prefer doing it that way. Anyway, this sort of happened to me today so it just got me thinking....
