I was just wondering how many people practice things with themself. I made a post recently regarding new ways of self masochistic behavior in which I got a few replies but wanted to broaden this subject. I have done things on the term of self masochistic behavior starting froma young age....things ranging from dripping candle wax on my theighs, breasts etc etc.......to piercings to cutting etc....now originally I always thought I was mental for enjoying these things...that their was something fucked up and wrong with me. So for some time I stopped and ignored my wantings. The more I talk to people on here etc. the more Im starting to realize...Im most definitely not the only one who does this and their is nothing wrong with it.
To the other masochistic people on here do you find it only makes you want a sadist in your life even more or are you happy doing this alone? I techincally do want a dom/sadist, but my situation is unique (read my profile if your curious what I mean) so I cant do that right now.
Also..know any websites that are strictly for masochistic individuals?

I didnt think I did till i read your post. I dont think its something I do consiously or set out to do in particular but if im doing something that happens to cause me a pain that I like ill not stop it becasue it feels nice.
Saying that though when my wisdon tooth broke in half and hurt like a bitch if i touched it with my tongue , I continually kept doing it even though it hurt and I really really really didnt like it but couldnt help it

not sure what that means lol
And silly things like if im cleaning the house and am knelt down on something ( hurry up home boy this is your job!1) for example the other day i washedm y door down and was knelt on my door mat, well the bristles dug into my skin and it was uncomfortable but nice so i didnt hurry to stop. Its wasntnice in a sexual way though just felt nice on my skin,
I find it very confusing trying to work out if i'm a sadist or masochist , I can handle pain I causemy self and some pain others cn give me but onlyin a nice way. Now giving out pain thats not always nice I love it :D:D

No, not as rare as you would think....
But, not anywhere near safe compared to what we do with our partners, in my not so humble opinion...just because of the way our brains work...if we know pain is coming, our brain sends out some chemical to deaden the pain...which means that personally, i have to do more damage to myself to get the same amount of pain than i would with a partner...and while i have learned that i need pain, it is relatively safer to have someone i trust inflict said pain...
and my unsolicited advice...get involved with your local BDSM community, there are those out there more than willing to offer you the pain you need without any sexual involvement, at least thats what i have seen in my local community and in the international leather community...heck...find yourself an open gay Top that gets his rocks off on causing pain...i have met many that don't care if you have dangly bits or pink bits as long as you like pain...the trick is finding them...

Being a dominant masochist is something i have recently come to terms with, realizing the difference between being this as opposed to a switch, which i thought i was. Anyhow, for a long time i was in a vanilla relationship that meant i wasn't getting that need met so self-masochism and self-bondage played roles for me. I still love to me tied up and tortured (i just want to control the scene too, lol)

Hopefully not as rare as you think. When I need a maso fix I get it, one way or another. Self inflicted, physical, mental, emotional, you name it, if I need it, I get it.

ben gay huh? Never thought of that one hehe. I used to this weird thing...I would sit back and with my nails i would press into my gums until it broke the flesh a lil bit...then keep fucking with that one tear. I know that sounds weird, but I did.....
I definitely need a good old fashioned sadist lol. I would love to say sexual too but *looks at her wedding ring* I can not do that.

i also started doing masochistic behaviors at a young age. at the time i didn't understand why i was hurting myself,only that it felt good. as i got older i started to figure out why i liked pain, and that it was something sexual for me. when i was about 17 i discovered bdsm and started learning about it. i discovered through experience that my masochistic feelings were better taken care of when someone else was doing the hurting. so to answer your question, yes i find that having a sadist is much more exhilerating than just engaging in those behaviors by my self. he can take me to places that i can't go alone. since being owned i would not choose to go back to satisfying myself, i dont think that anything can compare.
i do not know of any masochistic sites, i think that it is frowned upon, there are sites for spanking, movie sites so that you can watch someone else being hurt, but i am not sure if there are sites just for masochists. but to find out i am sure that you would just have to look online and may be you will find something that is an answer to what you are looking for.

i guess im what you'd call a masochist ...i can only truly get off on pain or at least to be turned on i need some pain and that includes when im alone ...i started off at a very young age,younger than most girls probably i think i was around 5 burning myself and trying like hell to get a spanking or even better the belt! from my parents lol i always had a thing for rope too.
also i would deliberately get myself in some wierd situations so that people would react badly to me and i would be ''humiliated'' and such!

one thing i have learned though is that (for me anyway) the more you become ''used to it'' the more you need it and a hell of a lot more too and where that can lead to i dont know!
i should imagine self inflicted is not so rare but ive got to a point where even alone i need to bleed or burn myself or hurt quite badly in some way otherwise nothing really happens for me.

the comment about knowing pain is coming so your brain deadens the nerves some and doing more damage to yourself than a sadist would is really spot on, im new here and i really dont want to sound like im trying to be some kind of an expert but please do keep that in mind, i can speak from my own personal experience here and say there are times when ive gone too far and unfortunately i have some very nasty scars to prove it.

Actually I don't think that it's rare at all, I had thought "maybe 1%" of the population. But then I did a bit of research and found one site selfhelpmagazine who also states that perhaps 1% of the population. That's over a million people. That site calls it Self-Inflicted Violence (SIV), but I don't think that I'd call what you do that name. Still, open cuts within the mouth carries the potential of significant risk. A good, knowledegable, and compatible dom/sadist would be good, especially at giving you what you desire while minimizing health risks.

I don't think that there are any sites that deal with sexual masochism in America anymore. The Patriot Act has weeded them out, even as it has BDSM sites like Insex. They probably exist overseas.

this may seem like a silly question moki, but have you considered an online sadist ? I can assure you that there are plenty of us out there looking for a sub/slave such as yourself and many of them would be only to pleased with your situation of not wanting a real time relationship. speaking as one who has inflicted a bit of online pain, it can be quite satisfying for both parties. well, so I'm told !!!
