moki1984 -> Single tails/floggers/canes etc etc (3/26/2007 9:44:08 PM)

I am looking to start stocking my bag so to say. I want a quality flogger, a single tail etc etc.....
Any suggetions on sites that are not extremely high priced but good quality?

I have not bought from this site yet, but I was impressed with what they said about their products -- attention to detail, yummy pics, lots of choices in materials.  It's not the cheapest site out there, but they look like quality (nothing inspired lust like good materials!).  I got this reference from an acquaintance here.

Thank you MSS, wonderful site! [:D]

Be careful when buying a single tail. Do lot's of research, take lots of classes. And as a general rule, you want kangaroo hide, at least 12 plaits, and if you plan on playing with more than one person, get a removable cracker. This is one case where you get what you pay for, so expect to pay $300 or more depending on length. Finally, I cannot recommend buying a single tail online. It would be best to actually feel the whip to make sure there aren't any bumps or discontinuities.

These guys are awesome, I've purchased all my floggers/quirts from them. My color scheme is black/purple and I like that you can order your toys in custom color combos.

I have bought from that site.  I would recommend it, I ordered a gift at christmas time at last minute and got it in time.  The office personel was wonderful to help me work out the best style and way to get in shipped in time.  The item was not any more expensive than other sites for the quality of workmanship that was put into it.

I'll chime in and give a two thumbs up to DeTails.   Most of my floggers are from them, most of which I've had for many years.  DeTails are "workhorse" floggers - solidly build and meant to last.

Depending on "how much" you are into signal whips, www.davidmorgan.com is still one of the better buys for a standard 8 plait 3 or 4 foot.   Keep in mind it's NOT a kink site (apparently there are non-pervy whipmakers...huh?).  My first signal whip was a 3 foot Morgan about 6 or 7 years ago, and I still use it (I'm an enthusiast though, so I've since bought quite a few more).   For just over $100, they're a really good buy, especially to learn on.

Leather paddles and straps:  www.thelondontanners.com.  Always.  Can't say enough great things about this guy.

Wood paddles and canes:  www.hansonpaddle.com.   While his paddles are a little more expensive than some, they're made of beautiful exotic woods;  worth the splurge.

Bonus:  For a leather toybag, look for a local Wilsons Leather Outlet.  They frequently have leather bags buy one get two half price, and have a great assortment.

Ya know, about singletails; I just don't have the room in my home to swing one properly.  Even at clubs...the room can be cramped; I'd spend too much time looking behind me.

For that reason, I bought a really nice quirt; 3'...easy to handle; and bites like a mofo (given the opportunity).

LMAO...the guy who made it said it'd be good to practice with, that I probably couldn't really hurt anybody.  When I said that to a long-time play partner (and excellent whipthrower), he promptly took it in his own hands, told me to take off my top and in about a minute had a serious criss-cross pattern of bloody welts across my breasts.  Damn!!!

I found a place in australia that had quality whips at a fair price.. still waiting on it as far ar floggers make your own then you know there good

KnightofMists -> RE: Single tails/floggers/canes etc etc (3/27/2007 7:08:30 AM)

considering all the floggers I have have been made in house... I consider all the sites to be over priced for the quality.

SumterDom -> RE: Single tails/floggers/canes etc etc (3/27/2007 7:58:09 AM)

I know my first singletail (4') was one from Austrailia. Michael Murphy...a bit expensive but very high quality.
I want to check our David Morgan, and others, when I'm ready to buy a set of stock whips (I think 8 footers would do well).
As to canes...I've bought several off Whypdancer. She makes basic ones and eloboorate ones, jeweled and all...http://www.canes4pain.com..
My next floogers I want are either from detailstoys (mop floggers) or from www.dominancelovingleather.com (mega floggers).

Enjoy!

LOL Well flat out - compared to a 4' Murphy, a 4' Morgan will be a disappointment.   They're just not made as nicely - but they're still a well priced starter whip.

If you're willing to drop some cash, Midnight Blue generally has the best selection - warning - droolable whips but pricey.  However, I wouldn't bring anything to them for repair - had some major issues that did eventually get resolved but it took MONTHS longer than it should have to get a whip back.

Two thumbs up for this site.  Blue and his girl are long-time friends of mine, and they have great stuff and their prices are more than reasonable for the quality of items you get.

FWIW, my canes all used to come from Stormy Leather in SF.  I don't know if they maintain the same quality they did in bamboo canes 9 years ago, but at the time, they were the best I'd found.

mixielicous -> RE: Single tails/floggers/canes etc etc (3/27/2007 3:12:39 PM)

fast reply, we find our selves at JT's Stockroom quite often, but i have no idea if i am being ripped off or not, LOL. there is also always something on sale.

I can recommend this site, good quality stuff for pretty low prices. Located in Bloomington, Indiana

shadevarr -> RE: Single tails/floggers/canes etc etc (3/27/2007 3:35:20 PM)

Myself, I use JT's stockroom and details mostly, loved everything I've gotten. I do check ebay for machine-made things or oddball stuff that you really won't find at a webstore like a 100 tail flogger.
