I took a little bit of time to go through various member profiles and noticed a striking amount of similiarities as concerned to what people in this lifestyle like and don't like... It would seem that the most 'hated' of all BDSM activities is Diapers...which I assume to mean the act of diapering your partner... People with nothing in the Hard Limits section always seem to find room for this one area... My question I pose you is why? I ask that a lot....

i'm just not interested in diapers. it's not a hard limit for me; i don't hate it; if he wanted to do it, that'd be fine by me. it's not important enough to me to hate...it's just not my kink. kind of like...masks are not my kink, but they're also not a limit, by any means.

agreed, personally I don't get the concept behind masks, but rather than shove it in the hated or hard-limits categlory I have it in the curious or tollerable categlory, so why is this the apparently unanimous exception?

or it could mean that they themselves have no urge to wear a diaper or use a diaper. Can't assume that it means they won't diaper someone else.... I'm with annabelle, it's just not my thing.... does nothing for me... but if Daddy wanted me to include that in our lives, it would be done.

Well, some of us list it as a hard limit because it is just that - not something I am going to do for fun or sport. If I have a loved one with a medical condition, that is one thing and I would take care of them, but I have no interest in playing with waste matter voluntarily. I don't think less of those who want to play like that, but it is not my thing and I am not going to waver on that, so I might as well list it as a limit so no one wastes their time bringing up the topic. And if they DO bring it up, I know immediately they have not bothered to read my profile.

It's something they feel strongly towards. In the actual scene I don't think it's the most "hated" form of play- there are a few of those we could argue fit that top spot. It tends to involve scat, which most people find disgusting in itself and a certain level of helplessness which most people don't want to spend energy doing. Psychologically associating it with babies is also a problem many have, specially when you try and transfer it into an adult who clearly does not fit that picture. Fear not, plenty of people are into it and quite fine with it.

there is an ick factor there in the cleaning up part. as a mom i imagine if i put my sub in diapers i would then have to change him as needed. yeah, not into that. with a baby you ahve no choice, but an adult....uh huh, too much work and nastiness for me thanks. i also associate it with age play. not something that turns me on. there's a reason i had my tubes tied.....

I can tell you why I won't. I had 4 kids, and even THEY learned to lift their hips by the time they were 6 month to make for a quick diaper change. Each one was potty trained before 18 months. Had it gone on longer, I am sure I would have taught them to change their own diaper. I could not ever conceive of someone enjoying it as kink. For me it signifies a lack of primary development into civilized society. I just can't relate. Kyst

If scat is a hard limit, then by extension diapers are also. In addition, I think I'd wind up with a UTI before I could pee into a diaper. I know that while in the hospital once, I was unable to use a bedpan and they had to catheter me. And from what the nurse said, this is quite common.

Well, we used to have a homesteading caretaker about who would wax for days about the benefits of 'alternative underwear' (my phrase). Although I have no experience myself, one of the things that gave me food for thought was how he would say that not only having to wear one but having to use it would strengthen the bond of 'need'. I realize that not everyone relishes the thought of being 'broken down' to that level, but I did afterwards understand the power (and the vulnerability) that that entailed. It certainly wouldn't be for everyone, and possibly never for me, but I'm quite a bit more open-minded about the possibilities than I might have been without seeing the thought process. Jeff

And here I thought I was the only one who made the connection between Homestead and Caretakr. As for wearing a diaper? Well, I got over the need myself at the tender age of two, and I see no need nor have the desire to regress in my development. In terms of diapering someone else? Been there, done that... I'd have to guess at having changed upwards of 20,000 diapers in my life, and that is just counting my own offspring. I've had my fill, thank you.

Yeah I would tend to agree, I suppose it's just one of the less common fetishes, thankyou all for your input, you have answered my question nicely.
