I am sure You have heard the song about 30 thousand pounds of bananas in Scranton Pa.  Well, my Dad was hit by a Penna State Trooper on that same hill. Three years latter and a lot of money, they found the Trooper guilty of reckless driving. Imagine that?

Hell youngsubmission and welcome to the boards.
Would you please explain what a "hoon" is to the rest of the reading audience?  [:D]

Until Vendaval mentioned Youngsubmission's use of the word 'hoon' I didn't click that he was an Aussie - I just silently congratulated him on using words I didn't need to translate! [:D]

I am willing to offer an antipodean translating/interpreting service for a nominal fee... this post is on the house!

'mates' - friends
'floored it' - accelerated
'hoon' - hmmm what is a good translation.... (often a) young male who has more brawn than brains, generally has had a healthy dose of alcohol or other substances and a group of his mates around to give him dutch courage, loud, obnoxious, little respect for others, - actually it is quite an all-encompassing word.
'he shat himself' - the person got very, very scared

Hope this helps!!!
