The differences being 1) Clinton didn't remove his own appointees. 2) Clinton's appointees were subsequently confirmed by the Senate. 3) The Attorneys Clinton removed weren't investigating more Abrahamoff links or other political wrongdoings. In an e-mail to Harriet Miers on Jan. 9, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales’s chief of staff Kyle Sampson (who resigned yesterday) admitted that the Clinton administration never purged its U.S. attorneys in the middle of their terms, explicitly stating, “In recent memory, during the Reagan and Clinton Administrations, Presidents Reagan and Clinton did not seek to remove and replace U.S. Attorneys to serve indefinitely under the holdover provision”: Hmmm.. Same Kyle Sampson who's been picked to take the fall for Gonzales. Of course, Schumer was just saying that that won't cut it in this case, they're not going along with the sacrificial lamb. Remember that whole bit about the Administration being Indictable for violations of 18USC371, and people asked, "WHY aren't Federal Prosecutors going before a Grand Jury with this?" Well, at the MINIMUM, you'll be fired. That's why. Happened to the lady who got Jack Abrahamoff.
