ORIGINAL: subsnow J doesn't usually talk to me when W/we are doing breath play. If He does, He is usually talking dirty. This past weekend i passed out during breath play. Neither of us were expecting this. When i came to, i was terrified. i couldn't rememeber where i was or how i got there. i couldn't remember what W/we were doing. i thought i had fallen asleep and had a nightmare. It felt like i had been out for hours when it had only been seconds. i didn't like that feeling. i posted something about this on the health and safety board. Someone told me that breath play is a lot more dangerous than some people think it is. The body can go into cardiac arrest even if the person doesn't pass out. It is impossible to predict if and when this will happen. There have been cases of people saying they feel fine after the breath play but then are found dead 2 hours later. The lack of oxygen can cause the PH level in the blood to rise which is deadly. If death doesn't occur, the person can end up having brain damage if breath play is done often. i was disappointed to hear that all of this could happen because i really like it when J chokes me (and i don't pass out). Still, i'm glad i know about the risks. i thought i would pass it on. Not meaning to burst anyone's bubble. I'm very grateful you shared this. I think, far too many times, people engage in this play and are in denial to the facts of the potential dangers involved. And I think this is one of the few areas of "edge" play that this is true of. I think most ppl are well aware of risks involved with knife play or fire play and and some of the other risky things we do, but so many ppl, I think, are still willing to ignore the very real dangers inherent in closing off someone's air supply...or else, they may not even bother to educate themselves. Again, if ppl want to engage in this kind of play, that's fine and I've heard it can be awesome...BUT, ppl should also be very well-informed of the real dangers before attempting this and certainly subs need to understand what can potentially happen BEFORE they put their lives in the hands of fate...b/c that's what you're doing. Your top is not necessarily in control when it comes to breathplay. Play safe, MNN
