sophia37 -> lunar eclipse (3/2/2007 5:16:10 PM)

The east coast will have a lunar eclipse tomorrow, sat night at about 5:40 PM. The moon will rise being already eclipsed. Should be interesting if you can see it. Keep it in mind.

Thank you Sophia, I will look for it....events like this strengthen my beliefs in a higher power.
Behold the wonders of the universe![:)]

Im hoping the clouds will go away long enough for me to see it [:)]

Sounds interesting, I'll have a look tommorrow. Hopefully the weather will be nice.
If it's nice out and no clouds I usually go out and look up at the stars everynight anyway.
Space and the distances, stars, planets, galaxys and the whole Universe facinate me! Maybe I should have majored in Astronomy instead of Business Admin.

Sounds like a trip to the beach to me!  (I live at the Jersey shore)

Unfortunately I don't live in the countries where the view will be good.
However, it should be a sight even if we can't see it in it's entire glory.

Me too, but doubt if that will happen, we miss all the good heavenly events.

News flash: clear skies Moon is disappearing....fast... UK time 22:07

Rule -> RE: lunar eclipse (3/3/2007 3:24:45 PM)

I went and had a few looks at the early part of the eclipse. A few minutes ago I went to have another look for the eclipse is total now, but there was a large cloud between me and the Moon.

Edited: The cloud has gone and at the moment about eighty to ninety per cent of the Moon is red. So the eclipse is not total yet.

Aileen68 -> RE: lunar eclipse (3/3/2007 6:18:05 PM)

Oooh...I had a clear night.  The moon rose here already eclipsed so my fifty or so pics of it show the progression from eclipse back to full.  The shadowed part was a gorgeous orange which only showed up in the pictures.

cjenny -> RE: lunar eclipse (3/3/2007 6:20:24 PM)

All I have is blizzardy snow, there is no sky :(

swtrayn -> RE: lunar eclipse (3/3/2007 7:06:05 PM)

The sky here showed a beautiful rose color. It was sure something to see. Glad the clouds let up enough to see some of it.
