I find that when looking at profiles, someone who shares the same DISLIKES and HATES is often more compatable (seeming) than someone who shares the same likes ;)

I have noticed that as well. There are things I look for in the Dislikes and Hate sections. Most people are flexible about what they like but not about what they hate. I find it a real plus if a person rated Bar Hoping in Dislikes, Hates, or Hard Limits.

I find that just about everyone hates diapers.

Agreed with both of you!

Especially about the bit about people being flexible with likes, and NOT so flexible with hates!

I think common squicks are more useful.

I don't hate diapers, and I know several other friends that don't hate them.

People like confirmation and what better way to confirm someone's self worth than someone confirming their pettiness, disfunction and over all nasty side, is something positive.

With everyone these days seeming to feel it is necessary to enter a response to every category (BTW, are Garage Sales some sort of urban M/s variation?), it makes sense to skip to the hates and hard limits. If my love is your squick there's not much hope for us really.

Z.
