Hi i have a question about how this site works? hopefully someone can answer it for me. I was recently accused out of the blue by a cm person an acquaintance of having been logged into my mailbox. i have not done so since 2/21/07. I am taking a break. how would that person think i was on??? I would like to understand this for educational purposes. IS he "discovering" login a few hours ago becuase i checked a sisters profile without logging in or is he confusing it because i came onto the message board??? What is up with this.... I am a confused person a frustrated imp on sabatical

Frankly, I have no idea what you are talking about. However, you seem to be bothered by a person who thinks that he is entitled to do so. The solution is simple: block him and ignore him. There is a block button on the email side. If he bothers you again by creating a new profile block that one as well. Eventually he will conclude that he had better mind his own business.

fyi you can hide yourself from the on-line list on the forums by checking that option in the "my profile" section of the forums.

Uh-huh. i think if you log on here and check something on the other side, it shows you as logged in there too. That is the impression i get anyways. i had to deactivate my profile there because every time i was on here, others wrote to me and i had no idea they were writing. Seems like we might be logged in on both sides unless we hide our profile. Just a guess. Daddysgirl

It's quite simple...if you have been on CM for at least 30 months AND you have 400 (or more) posts...you have access to who, what, and where. Simply put, if you meet the above criterion, you not only know when someone viewed your mail, but more importantly, who (other than the original poster) you may have emailed a response to. Watch your step. Someone knows. (You may want to contact some of your local community colleges to see if they have any courses on "clues").

it appears that if u don't log out u stay logged in. i don't usually log out so when i hit collarme on search it takes me to my mailbox
