Help! I need costume ideas!

I'm going to an anime convention and I need a fun, sexy costume that will look good on a plus sized girl...preferably needs to be related to anime, japan, video games, fantasy stuff, role playing games, etc.

I don't sew, so I kind of need something I can buy/find...

Last year, I threw my costume together at the last minute and went as a kitty-girl. I want something more original this year. If you scroll through the photos on my profile there is several of me in the kitty costume (black outfit with ears and tail). Will also give you an idea what I look like...

I know there's some creative folks around here. Help, please!

Less than $300 I would say...unless I bought something I could reuse in other outfits, like a new corset.

One idea I had was putting together a dragon costume, with a face mask, wings, tail, and some sexy lowcut dress in a matching color...I found some cool dragon stuff here: http://www.skirmisher.com/st-adultdragoncostumes.html

A hot little girl such as yourself probably has all the fixins at you disposel, a cow-girl, mae west, I realize this is an anime conv. but have you watched firefly? Serenity? Sci-fi meets the ol'west. The wild west is apart of us, the japs love to use it in anime. Hell I'm an x-NYer and Iwear a black leather duster and black western hat, hmmm and I wear a black helmet, when I ride a black bike, and I'm the Black Knight....but my skin is fairly white. hmmm .. but I digress

The question is what do you want to be, last year I bought a skull mask bought skeleton gloves, colored some chees cloth glued it to the mask, and gloves. had a voicebox that made my voice sound like a monster, threw on my chaps, old leather biker jacket, and viola I 'Ghost Rider' hell of alot better than nicholas cage. I scare the holloween candy extorters. And boy did I scare them! That and a few fog machines on my porch, a boombox playing holloween cds.

You could be a pirate, it's always a winner, twist in sci-fi and have a ray-gun...ie movie ice pirates. hot female pirate with a lazer gun lazer lashwhip, and of course a lightsaber. sailed your ship threw the seven interstellar compendiums. it can work, it's just about what you want to be. could always dress up like a slave girl..... collar, chains, rags...
I told a girl to combine two ideas of her costumes, she had an angels costume, and a devils costume make herself out to be twoface one of her outfits was white on one side, and red on the other so the idea worked out well.

how about piratizing youself, put on a tail, and horns, collar, chainsand be an interstellar pirate, escaped/capered from/for slavery

After a careful review of your pics on profile, ( very nice BTW ) I'd recommend something along a sailor moon cos.

Well..you are going to an Anime Con. I have attended a few of those and it theme is the Japanese Cartoons mostly. As sugguested Sailor Moon would be good. There are several new shows on. I like the coats worn by those in Yu-Gur..whatever. It envolves a card game that the pictures on cards come to life. Another I find interesting is "Naruto" (The Hyperactive, Knuckledhead, Clueless Teenage Ninja), the costumes there are interesting.

bein as u look quite american and r from texas i would say an abbreviated cowgirl outfit with daisy dukes would go over real well and cost next to nothing... there will already b alot of anime, y not do somethin different that is regional to u?

Hey I saw an anime like that! Ok...not exactly, but I'm sure there is one out there! I DID see a pirate/bdsm anime!

Yeah but the convention is in texas, so that might not be so uncommon.....

I kind of want to avoid costumes that show my legs. I have pretty fat, flabby legs!

I need to find one that looks good on a chunky blonde though LOL!

I noticed at least years con there were LOTS of fantasy themed and video game themed costumes, also lots of animel costumes!
