Emperor1956 -> Is it the New Moon? (2/20/2007 3:16:07 PM)

I was away a bit (business travel, family illnesses, etc.) and I come back and this place seems MORE OFF KILTER than usual.

What is it?  Chinese New Year?  Mardi Gras?  New Moon?

What is going on?

E.

It's the book under only one side of your monitor.  [:D]

Winter. I personally am tired of "suiting up" just to go from the house to the car to work, etc. Making me even more annoyed with the little stuff than usual.

Go check out the gossip page.  You have no clue how off kilter it really is here lately.  I think it's the winter blahs and cabin fever.  No wonder most serial killers come from places that have long cold winters ( I think.  If it's not true then it should be).

Edited to add....and welcome back!

findmedaddy, you might be right.  The past several weeks sucked, weather-wise.  But today its 40, and it feels like effing SPRING!  Our warm air is on its way to you...hope you like it.

This place went to shit without having my immediate responses and guidance.

Some people could use 40 days of penance and reflection.

Aileen68 -> RE: Is it the New Moon? (2/20/2007 5:54:32 PM)

It was like this the same time last year.

I have noticed that there are a lot of new people who seem to live by the motto 'post vigorously and often'!  I have never noticed so many strange polls and questions/comments - what's the bet someone will turn Aileen's winter loving serial killers into a poll soon??

Want to make a poll to see when that should happen?

This place is no more off kilter than it was before -- you are just suffering culture shock after having been away from it for a while. Same thing used to happen to me back when I lived in Utah and would return from a vacation of a few weeks. Don't worry, in a few days you'll be back to being as off kilter as before.

Emperor1956 -> RE: Is it the New Moon? (2/21/2007 9:34:54 PM)

Maybe its Mardi Gras?   Chicago always seems surreal at this time of year.  The huge Polish population means that everyone is eating "Punchkies" (I know, that isn't how you spell it, but its sure how you say it).  Then with the Chinese contingent, they are running around wearing red and shouting "Gong Xi Fa Choi!" (I do it too).  THEN there are all the catholics running around with big black ashy smears on their foreheads...I teach at a Catholic school.  Class tonight was 7 cute women with dirty foreheads, one stunningly beautiful Puerto Rican woman who apparently is lapsed, and one adorable Bhuddist who couldn't figure out why everyone's head is dirty.  Gotta love it.*

*Note.  Yes, I'm a pervert.  But I'm far too ethical and set too high a standard to ever, ever mess with a student.  That's an absolute NO NO NO.  But this term I have a seminar that's all women *SIGH*.  LORD, do you test me?

Emperor1956 -> RE: Is it the New Moon? (2/23/2007 7:46:56 PM)

I'm just back to my own thread to note that it really is squirrley around here these days.  There are more weird threads, more nasty little wars going on and more generally odd things posted than I recall in a while.  I'm voting on winter craziness...

Oh, I know! They're clogging up random stupidity and burying all my favorite games.

Now if the serial killer only killed to please a dom/me, would s/he be a "true" murderer?
