Older Master/younger slave

Status: offline 		This Master is 36 and is considering a slave who is 18.  Is this a common age difference between Master and slave?  I appologize if this question is an old one.  This Master is just curious to know if such age difference is commonplace and if the reverse is often true as well.  That is if there are often couples where the Master/Mistress is younger than the slave in the M/s relationship.  This Master imagines it must be interesting to be in such a position of power over a slave especially if the slave is older.

Status: offline 		My Master is 17 years older than me.  He was concerned about the age difference at the time, but it's worked out quite nicely.  I think the mind plays a greater factor than age in most cases.

Status: offline 		I have to agree with the responses so far.  I haven't yet been owned, but I have had play partners that were anywhere from 2 years younger to 20+ years older.  If it works for you, then go for it.

Status: offline 		Coming from one who has been part and party to the lifestyle for many years and in a variety of countries. I have to add ... it is not uncommon for there to be an age difference. Generally though, the difference is not so much actual age as it is in age of experience. There have been many times where the submissive is new to the lifestyle at an older age and the Master is younger but more experienced.
The experience of the Master speaks better of himself than his calendar age.

I n my view the number of years between you is less important than the maturity level of both sides of the slash.

Your there, I assume, but is she at the tender age of 18?

Status: offline 		Master is 40...I just turned 22.  There is nothing wrong with an age difference so long as it works for you.

Status: offline 		Thanks for all the posts so far.  I don't know if she is totally at her maturity or not Celtic Prince but I do believe that everyone has to start somewhere and she does want to be my slave.  She also seems to know what she will be getting into.  I will of course try not to expect too much too soon of her as I don't want to frighten her.  I don't believe that being Master means it's necessary to scare my slave.  I don't want her to be in fear of me, just for her to respect me as her Master.

Status: offline 		my dominant is 35 years older than me. our age gap, i know, is probably very unusual...but it works for us. i would say that if the relationship seems to be a good thing, why worry about age? life is too short/long. :)

Status: offline 		Although switched, I think (for me at least) my past relationship with an older sub worked so well because we both had different perspectives on things that we brought to each other. Music for example. She was the connoisseur of 60 and 70's music, while I knew more about the music of today.  I think also older women just know better how to treat their younger ladies like a lady. Things like pulling the chair out or opening the car door. At least that was the way it was in my relationship.

Status: offline 		Interesting yeah.  Specially considering how 18 for a female is a pretty crazy whacko year to start with and frankly anyone who has the balls to make a serious commitment with a female under 25 is hopefully well prepared for the low likelihood of the relationship lasting more than two years.

Age distance relationships are far more common than people seem to think, and in the scene, the "old guy/young fem flesh" dynamic is almost a cliche at this point.

Status: offline 		Maybe it won't last LuckyAlbatross, but there's no harm in trying I don't think.  One of my aunts was married to a man about 20 yrs her senior (they stayed married til his death).  While I don't plan to jump into anything that permanent right away I don't think it's an impossible goal.  Of course I don't think they were into bdsm (not that I would inquire of her) some older man/younger woman relationships have lasted in the past.  I have 6 older 1st cousins in that branch of our family alone. lol.

Status: offline 		IT is common to find a big age difference,IE I am 60 and I have owned slaves in their 20s and in the past have owned slaves older then I....ITS how the two brains click that makes the difference rather then the age difference..,,I much perfer a younger slave that open and willing to learn then a more experienced one that has picked up bad habits from previous owners..Of course as always just the views of this "OL" master... BH

It's best not to compare older generations to todays.  The period of life change has drastically extended into one's 20s, the culture of personality is vastly different, and the expectations and learnings of females is very different.

And I never said it couldn't happen.  Lord knows at 18 I made such a commitment myself, fully believe it would be as it was.

I'm saying it's highly unlikely to do so.

Status: offline 		I didn't mean to imply that you had said it couldn't happen LuckyAlbatross.  I understood what you meant and (proving even a Master can make an error) I apparently didn't phrase my response the best.  I simply think that it's better to try and have it fail (if that is what is to happen) somewhere down the road than not to try in the first place.  At the very least both me and slave will both gain experience.

Status: offline 		Everyone is correct in age not really being a factor.  You do have to keep in mind that she is 18 and a person changes greatly in the years after acheiving "independence".  While the relationship can last, you have to be prepared for her to change and change with her or be willing to let go if the changes do not suit the relationship.
