I read an article in Scientific American magazine a few months ago that said that there is a theory that whatever people think of as existing doesn't actually come into existence until they actually view it with their own eyes, or otherwise sense it (through touch, taste, etc.).  And also, that whatever exists is different for each person - so that I could exist in someone's reality, but they might not exist in mine, and vice-versa.

Of course, this is too mind-blowing a concept for most people to actually believe (myself included). But still, it's kind of intriguing - thinking that somebody doesn't come another person's reality unless they want(ed) them there - both the good and the bad, for whatever reason.

The theory also stated that if "bad" (harmful) people and things became a part of someone's reality, that at some point, the person wanted them there (for whatever reason; spiritual growth, or what have you) - and that explained it better to me (a little, although I still have some questions about this theory).

Try reading some of Carlos Castaneda's books! Someone by mistake picked one up in my house to drag off to the bathroom for a little light reading. They came out crosseyed and wondering what kind of drugs the author was one when he wrote that.

They do a good job of making a person think outside the box in many ways.

Ooh nifty.  A philosophical discussion.

I'm going to wax Hermetic on this one:  I believe that reality is the macrocosm reflected in the microcosm and vise versa.  To translate, the outer world is a reflection of the self, and the self is reflected in the outer world.  It's all interconnected.  The cosmic web of life that runs through me is the same that runs through you, and that rock on my front lawn, the trees, et cetera.

Hence why I feel that magick is a naturally occuring thing, that the term "supernatural" is a misnomer, and much of science is people trying to figure out how while religions are trying to figure out why.

I'm also a pretty mystical and spiritual person, but not religious.  I try to avoid sticking my ideas in boxes whenever possible and avoid having beliefs versus theories.

If I be waspish, beware my sting!

So much of Shakespeare's plays had baudy humor and double entendres.  When I see people reference them as "high art" I just crack up.  My professors knew better and taught me and the other students well.

(will you unsheath your naked weapon?  *snicker*)
