I dropped my Remington and the clipper thing in the front came off along with two little springs. The screen/blade stayed put. Snapping the clipper back in place was easy enough, but I don't see any obvious place to put the springs. The shaver works fine without the springs, but I assume they were put there for a reason. I just can't figure out what to do with them. Any ideas?

Yes. Throw it away, and get something better. I grew to detest my Remington so much, I kidnapped Victor Kyam and tortured him at length with it. That shut him up. E

Even if I followed your advice and threw it away, the seemingly gratuitous springs would still bother me. :) What's better than a Remington? I'm real picky about disposables, but have always bought Remington electrics.

Braun make the best electrics I think, but really wet shaving is the best; its a pain not being able to relax in the bath but with practice its possible to get all areas sorted in under five minutes, and it lasts much longer. E

The springs are there so you get a better shave. Without cutting yourself. Go to remington.com and e-mail them the model number. They will help you. Remington outsells all competitors and also is the first company there was established. They just don't have the smarts to have the right advertising. Norelco is number 2 on the list of quality.

Well, I only have one little spring now. I was sitting here this morning after posting this, holding the springs between my thumb and forefinger, and staring at them hoping for some kind of insight when all of a sudden one popped out of my grip and flew accross the room. Hell if I know where it is now. :) Not sure what I'm gonna do now. They sell replacement parts on that site you gave me.

They do, depending on how old your shaver is it may be under warranty. Either way...doesn't hurt to write and see what they have to say. Most all of the companies now have real nifty ones that are waterproof.

I have a Norelco. It works "OK." Then again it is somewhere in between the "crap' model and the "will do your dishes, too" model. Ex husband had a top of the line Norelco that I would use when he wasn't looking, and it was divine.

Ah! I've always wondered if guy shavers were better. I mean, it makes sense, cause beard hairs are seriously prickly.

Remington and Braun we're a client of mine a few year's back. Got bonuses and instead of cash they paid me in free stuff. I have everything from the mid range products to the high end products on both shavers. None I have opened work well at least not in my opinion. I liked the idea of the ones that were waterproof but none seemed to shave all that well. Tried to unload a bunch of them on ebay....for whatever reason people don't buy electric shavers all that much anymore. Yet, I have come away with much knowledge on them. From foil systems to rotary heads to alledged higher end models. Which ones are best...etc.
