I like to consider myself open-minded, but gerbalization is not for me!

I just shot of an email to a friend of mine where I noted that there does seem to be a lot of people with mood disorders in the lifestyle.  I wonder if that is true, or if people are just more open to discussing it in order to help others.

I am guessing various reasons.

People like to think they are better then others. Most there is zero percent of malice or conscious intention to preach it but some sub conscious actions and for some with self esteem issues it is a more severe and preached from their self imposed pedestals.

Frustration venting and maybe targeting a small random sample or reflecting on being done “wrong” by someone and giving everyone in that realm the same characteristics.

Despite our shout outs about not caring or feeling free to live how we want, there are still society mores that have been pounded into our head and for to some degree and for some people looking for the ah ha that is why you are not normal is an important rationalization to them.

Poor written communication skills, simply not being able to write or rushing through what they write and therefore the words and tones are made to look like the person includes all and is a absolute fact instead of a percentage and their opinion.

It's because although the human brain has the capacity for fuzzy logic all people on this site are only capable of thinking in all or nothing terms.

Am I the only one that saw a huge generalization in that?
I think that it is simply human nature to catagorize things, including other humans.
All dogs bark. *except those that don't*
All fish stay underwater. *except those neato flying fishies* Etc Etc.

finally a sound voice of reason

i agree - being overweight with some tendencies of obsessive complusive is not why i'm a submissive. after 4 yrs of discovering my submissiveness, i'm still trying to understand the hows and whys of what i am. all of us are the perfect height to weight proportion or one of the "beautiful people" - we are unique and special in our own way. BDSM is not an exclusive club where only the right people (meaning beautiful, perfect weight and body size, wealth) can join.

No, you are not the only one who caught that.

I find it amusing some of the generalizations people make about people who generalize.

lol perhaps there is hope for me yet, I just have to stick to generalisations and I am safe.

It is confirmed I really am a submissive lol .

a.  I am slightly over weight
b.  I have mental/emotional health issues
c.  I smoke
d.  I am a survivor of child abuse
e.  I am a survivor of domestic violence

Hell I must be the perfect sub
