agreed, i would love to know also, and i am going to sound stupid but i keep hearing about IRC and never tried it , what exactly is it???(i know there are no stupid questions, just stupid people...lol and go google or wiki it , ) but i would love to know

IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat and there are several programs to access it. the two main programs are Mirc and Pirch (i prefer Pirch, even if it IS an older program and hasn't been updated since 98)

there's still thousands of people logged on (at least on the Bondage IRC). i don't know just how many still log on to severs like DalNet, Undernet or Efnet. there are so many other IRC severs still in use as well

I can speak for Undernet still being used by thousands, that's where I usually access.  The current mIRC takes very little of either of my computers resources.  It's been better tuned over the years.

There is a server called BDSMNet also, much smaller than bondage.  Some of us even run fservs where you can download movies, music, etc. from places like my computer in my front office. MIRC runs 24/7 on my office computer and uses almost no resources.

Edited to add:  If you go to mirc.com they will let you download the program for 30 days and use it without restrictions to let you try it.

i thought Mirc was a free program. nobody i talk to says they have to pay to use it. for those who want a more mouse-freindly IRC program, Pirch is the best, hopefully, if someone does update it, they won't ruin it by making it as complicated as Mirc.

That's why they have two programs, smiles, I find MIRC much easier to navigate.

there's too much typing involved with Mirc, the same functions that Mirc uses as type-in style, i can do with the click of the mouse on Pirch

michael, in response to the IRC, i downloaded it ok but keep getting some error1104 or something and it wont connect ,

Might want to try both MIRC and PIRCH and see which you like better.
