i have probably the most violent, vicious, detailed dreams ppl could imagine.  It is not abnormal for me to see what a human body looks like with its limbs ripped off.  Or watching everyone around me gunned down.

The subconscious does not have access to the language centres in our brain. It has to communicate in a non-verbal manner. To do so and to get our attention it uses the most graphic and crude images available to it. As an example: infrequently my subconscious warns me that my bladder is full and that I need to wake up by showing me the bowl of a lavatory filled to the brim and about to overflow with urine and excrement. It is crude, but it does get my attention and it does awaken me.
Dream language is symbolic language. Try to be detached and try to figure out its symbolism.

Sounds crazy, but its true.  i have probably the most violent, vicious, detailed dreams ppl could imagine.  It is not abnormal for me to see what a human body looks like with its limbs ripped off.  Or watching everyone around me gunned down.  Or whatever.  i am used to death in my dreams.  Usually it is death of ppl i dont know, sometimes those i know.

You might think I'm crazy with my mom's old wives tale (I know that isn't probably true, it just makes me feel better, and it might be true for me scince I beleived in it growing up, who knows)... but, quite a few years ago, I started having prophetic type dreams. Nothing like Nostradamus or anything, just little things -- like one time, I woke up in a jolt because I could hear and feel a car crash. That day, got into an accident.... There were a few more examples like that, and it freaked me out completely!

I had been told when I was younger by a psychic in Salem, MA, that I would start to have prophetic dreams as I aged... when I remembered, I double freaked out. I mean, if the information was good, like say the Megabucks numbers, ok, but not the scary stuff... lol... anyhow, I used to go a lot to this all-natural/homeopathic/ayurvedic/ "granola-crunchy" day spa at the time (my brother was dying, I needed it) and one of the eshiticians told me that if I didn't want to have these dreams anymore (I certainly did not), to ask God/the powers that be/mother earth/the spirit world (fill in your own beleif system here) just to stop it. I did for a couple of weeks everynight before I went to sleep.... it worked.

(side note, I dream in color, that esthitician also said that's a sign of creativity... again, who knows, but it cheered me up!)

I don't know, asking the "spirit world" for the dreams to stop could have simply been that it helped me calm down, especially druing the extreme stress I was under at the time with my brother in the hospital dying and a few other things going on. Maybe, that's all I needed. All I do know is I don't have those dreams anymore. I still have my typical nightmares every now and again (snakes.... ick), but nothing that made me fearful during the day anymore.

I wish you luck.

Thanks.  i've been dreaming like this since i was 16.  i've had a few prophetic dreams where i see something that will happen in the future.  One dream, i had was in a city i had never been in before, riding in a car and wondering WHO was this man i was with.  It was Master.

i dream in colour as well.  i had some one analyze em abit.  This is what i was told.  "Part of your mind feels it has no control so what it sees is often wrecked.  The image of broken bones and mangled bodies represents an inability to make things right." and  "So long as there is control, the bodies need not be mangled"

made sense

Some of the dreams, i see my deepest fears play out.  Those are usually nightmares.  So far, i've only 2 major fears.  LOL
