Hi suzanne, Both of these words are good terms that could be applied in different D/s situations. "Recalcitrant" is the more active type of disobedience and "defiant" or "non-compliant" are the passive type of disobedience. In either case, do not reward the bad behavior. Use a punishment that the sub/slave will loathe and never want to experience again. I prefer to use very boring and time consuming chores, standing in a corner, writing an essay about why and how they were bad, sending them away and denying them my attention for a while, and so forth as punishments. quote:
ORIGINAL: onestandingstill recalcitrant - marked by stubborn resistance to authority; "the University suspended the most recalcitrant demonstrators" defiant, noncompliant - boldly resisting authority or an opposing force; "brought up to be aggressive and defiant"; "a defiant attitude. I'd not heard it before. I thought maybe others would like to see it too. As words and terms seem to matter so much in this BDSM world, I'm surprized I've not seen this word used. suzanne
