Has anyone had any really profound dreams that stayed with you that you may or may not have worked out what it really meant?

A really really long time ago, I had this dream (probably 18 years ago).

It started out like I was floating around the world. I was listening to and watching things. I was listening to people talking about the weather, everyone was saying how much the weather had changed, some people were arguing that it had not. I would be in peoples houses listening to private conversations and I was in social places listening and watching people talking about it. I wasn't part of the conversation, just observing it as an invisible entity in the room or place etc. Then after awhile in the dream I started to hear people on the television discussing the same thing, governments putting out reports about the weather change, telling everyone there was nothing to be concerned with etc etc. All the while through the dream it was getting hotter and hotter. People were doing all their normal things, going to work, playing sport, having fun, living life etc...

Then at some point fireballs started coming out of the sky and crashing into the earth. I was still an observer, watching people running, watching fireballs crashing into crowds and buildings. People running scared.

Then I felt a calling and I knew I had to search for a place, I travelled to this place and when I got there, there were other people there and a particular woman was standing on the steps of the house. I talked to her and she kept saying we had to get ready. I had no idea what we had to get ready for. It was so incredibly hot, it was like the world was burning up.

Some other people came by and the woman told us those people were not meant to be here but she would satiate them with something so they would pass by without causing trouble. She did what she said and the people moved on...

After some time she said it was time and she hid us all and said not to come out of this place till a certain thing happened. The woman herself did not hide with us. We were hidden and waited. When the thing occurred that she said would happen, we came out of our hiding place to find the whole world destroyed. There was nothing left, everything was burnt to a crisp. One of the group remarked "What were we saved for? Everything is gone." Someone else said, " Everything has jut changed, its a new world, we must start again."

The end

I even got shivers again recounting this dream that was so so long ago...

Anyways..has anyone else had really intense dreams like that, that they had no clue what it meant? It would be easy to jump to a conclusion and say its a prophecy for where the world is heading...and in reality as the years have passed..I kinda wonder soemtimes as people start talking about the weather more and more lol....

I think mostly though, Ive felt it just represented a complete change in my life...of which too since that time I have seen that come to fruition...

But then..I have had other dreams with nuclear stuff...I have had other dreams with disasters with new york (many years before the twin towers thingy). I remember when I was really young having a dream about purchasing a bottle of water, I told my mother about it and she laughed..the concept was so ludicrous at the time...but hey..who here hasnt bought a bottle of water these days...

Anyways... any comments or sharings?

Profound, no, but I have had some that were extremely disturbing.
One in partuiclar when I was away in colege, I dreamt that everyone was missing.  Just, missing.  gone. And when I did finaly find someone, my best friend at th etime Chris, he told me that no one wanted to be around me anymore becasue my mother made everyone miserable.
So, everyone had left my dorm building so they could be sure to avoid her.
When I woke up from that one, it was to the phone.  My mom caled t tell me she was on her way over fro the hotel.  Adn then Chris caled and told me if mom was coming, he was goingot make himself scarce becasue everyone hated her.

To say the least, I freaked.

One that comes to mind is over 20 years old.  I was going through a really nasty custody battle.  The dream began pleasant enough with pastures that were well trimmed and cross fences with hedge, every so often there was a scattering of trees.  The sky was that blue that happens when there’s only a light breeze and you don’t notice the temperature being hot or cool.  I was driving a single horse buck board with the girls in back enjoying the day when we realized we were being followed.  Somehow I knew it was the devil who was following us.  I cued the horse to quicken the pace and one of the girls fell out landing in the grass.  The Devil (who actually looked just like a friends husband, not the red dude with a tail) had almost reached where she landed.  By now I was off the seat of the buckboard and running too.  I almost tackled him, we began physically fighting both trying to win the fallen child.  He was wirey but I finally got my hands on him and somehow turned him upside down as I held his feet with his head just inches off the ground.  Next thing I knew he had bitten my ankle and I woke up.

I know much of the dream revolved around the circumstances in my life at the time, yet the presence of a devil was odd in that at the time I was not much into organized religion.  I never saw my ex as a bad or evil person either so I never could rationalize him being the devil from my dream.  In some ways that dream was so real I can still feel the perspiration and the bite.  Yet I kinda feel like I fought the devil and won.  But that superstitious me will wonder till the day I die if that bite didn’t leave a residue………….

As a teenager I used to dream the future of those closest to me.  Got a bit scary when a couple people died and I knew about it a day prior.

Luckily that left me as I aged.  It is so much better to be clueless when something is going to happen to those you hold dear when it happens.

When I was young (elementary school through junior high), I had a recurring dream that I was running through mountains of coal. I would run and never get anywhere.  The dream always left me feeling anxious.

I have dreams on a fairly regular basis where my teeth fall out.  Freaks me out every time.
When I was pregnant I used to dream that the baby would be on the deck railing and would start to fall.  I would run to catch her and never make it.  She always fell and I always woke up so upset.
The one dream I had that I still remember vividly and still makes me so tense also involved my wee one.  I dreamed that I was at a strip mall and she was next to me.  I turned briefly and then looked back and she was gone.  I remember starting to panic and then I spotted a van pulling away.  I could see her face pressed against the small back window of the door.  She was crying and screaming.  The van started to accelerate away and I ran screaming and running after it, all the while knowing I would never catch it or see her again.  I woke up screaming.  It was much too realistic for me and I'm very glad I've only had that dream once.

I've also had the teeth falling out dream, it is a common dream.  It can represent loss or worry about appearance.

It's very rare that i remember any of my dreams but...

In most of my i'm running and hiding from something (i never find out what thou). I'm always surrounded by the few people that i really care about, my concern is mainly for them (again i never find out way). And at some point i usally end up trying to fly for some reason but i'm always just that inch away being able to do so. By the late stage of the dream i always end up alone trying to find the people i've lost. Strangely although i've had this dream many times i've never managed to get further than this point, some thing always wakes me up, weather it be noise or just my self.

There was one dream i had once were i'm desperately trying to disarm a bomb with a timer on it, to which i was not having much luck. But just as the timer reached zereo, the loudest clap of thunder i have ever heard woke me up. Hazzard to say it scared the living s**t out of me, it definately got me out of bed..

I'm having really freaky dreams now.
Day one my bf died.
Day two my brother died, and my bf was dead.
Day three my mother died, and my other brother and I were taken care of by my aunt.
Day four my aunt died, but that's as well because I really don't like that woman.
It just goes on and on. And once they are dead, they don't reappear in another dream.

I've not had the teath falling out dream but i have found hole in parts of my legs. Wasn't bloody thou kind of like looking into a cooked chicken, no blood, pale, you can see the bone and the meat drops to pieces if you touch it. I very occasionly have problems with my leg and they usally co-inside with the dream so i put the holes in my legs down to the fact usally i'm in a bit of pain, so the pain i my leg gets incorperated in to my dream and manifests it's self as a hole in my leg. That would be my guess.

sometimes i have a recurring intense dream about society in the near future

i saw people living in fear everyday. religion was outlawed ...churches were destroyed and free speech was a thing of the past.  i saw government police sweeping and clearing buildings because the people hiding were on the "list" which i took to meaning no one will be seeing them alive again. i saw children in this society being taught the government doctrine - they were such mindless robots because being a free-thinking individual was not allowed.  there were many camps strategically placed around where people were programmed to swear allegiance to the government and its laws. if you didn't, death.  borders were closed - being an immigrant sent you to the camps ...carrying id/papers was the norm.

i know this one sounds like something from V for Vendetta however this is one of my recurring dreams before that movie was made.

I’ve had a few messed up dreams in my time.

One progressive reoccurring dream I had when I was a kid started with me looking out the dinning room window of my parent’s house. The tree line on the hill I could see out the window became Indians, and they where coming down the hill to get everyone in the house.

As time went on they were at the house and were going around it on the outside, in a school bus no less, (there were no outer walls), to collect everyone they could find in each room, so they could bring them out back to the living room where they would stand in the doorway of the sliding glass door, and shoot arrows at them. Anyone who could find a good place to hide would be safe; if not; well you get the picture.

Long story short; (I won’t bore you with the details), the last time I had the dream they had found me in their search. We were out back on the bus waiting for the alarm at the front of the bus to go off indicating it was time to go into the living room and find a hiding place. Just as the alarm on the bus went off, I woke up to my mother’s alarm clock going off; it was time to get up and get ready for school.

I’m not sure what the significance of that dream was, but I can say, living at my parents as a teen, damn near killed me.

Although I find it interesting that the alarm on the bus was actually my mother’s alarm clock; it is not half as perplexing as waking up one night to use the bathroom, looking at the paneling on the wall behind my bed, to have the figure I saw in the pattern tell me to go back to sleep while it was swinging a pocket watch back and forth, and then seeing the pocket watch in my bed when I pulled the covers back, or a number of other things that have happened to me since.

Be well,

Yeah, when i was a teenager - i dreamt what was going to happen to the world.  It wasnt going to be bombs or war or earthquakes or anything like that.  We werent going to have armagedeon because of a war.  My dream said we were going to have armagedeon simply because of pollution.

I also had a dream where i fell out of an airplane and landed 200 years in the future and there were raptors in the playground at night.  i figured out in the dream that i had to fall and in a sense die (trying to go back to my own time) and i did so, but i landed 200 years behind the time i wanted.

One dream I have had (and its started again lately) is being pregnant. I notice that I almost always have this dream when my life is about to change or I begin on something new and unknown.

jali,

I think it was a fairly prophetic dream.  Global warming couple with the thoughts of the Iraqi people.

3 years ago, I 'awoke' to an old woman standing in my bedroom doorway.  I thought she was an Alzheimer's patient that had maybe just moved into the neighborhood and got lost and wandered into my house. (our neighborhood exploded in a mass of new housing developments and people had been moving in in droves!- that's why I thought that)

I asked the woman who she was.  She leaned her hand against the doorway in a casual stance, smiled and her eyes twinkled as she said "well.. who USUALLY answers your prayers?

I actually was stunned as I thought of an answer. She almost laughed as she said "Expect something Extraordinary".

That was it.

What followed was this:

Later that week, we were looking at the new houses going us around us and I asked my husband if he would ever opt for less yard and more house.. and he said yes.  Usually he's the naysayer of our home:

So it began- I put our house up for sale.. it sold in a month for full price and to a woman that did not wish any of the incentives offered.  There was a chain of events  (if any are interested, I've written them all down-email me here and I'll send it) - we found a house with all the features we only HOPED we would have one day.. on a lake..5 miles from the new stadium.  One month later, the housing market ballooned increasing our property value by 45%.

We refinanced and got rid of all our debt..and last but not least- slave ended up being only 1/2 mile away!
