Yanno..... I've pretty much said what I have to say about algore and Rush, but until this thread just reminded me about Kissinger and the Nobel......well what a shame.

I know there are quite a few folks here who are very smart and know their history quite well. But for the ones that make this part of the board just a causal acquaintance....I will say that you can despise Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and many of the other neocons, but Kissinger takes the cake.

From Détente to Pinochet to Iran contra, and even Iraq ..... no other single person within in the political framework of America has been responsible like Kissinger for elevating this country to such Strangelovian heights.


The poster who wrote that a Nobel has no significant relevance, is on the money

Status: offline 		Not sure he deserves the Nobel but he has contributed to putting debate about human caused climate change into the US arena, and making it a mianstream political topic.
When I first started comming to US about 7 years ago and talked about Sustainability and climate change most people had never heard of it. Now management through to the cleaners have heard something about it and many are starting to change their home behaviours as well as their at work behaviours. Even some of the absolute head in sand types are starting to question themselves...........

Yes he is known to some over here, but known for a lack of credibilty unfortunately.
