I can tell you this...

I hate the way many in the "community" insist on labeling everything. I am also not too fond of the way vanilla gets used as a pejorative by a lot of the same people who insist on the above mentioned labels.

That is a start, but the trick about language is that we know a thing when we name it.  That's how we get our first grip on thinking very early in life.  Even in mythology, even with mythological Adam - he knew a thing when he named it.

And I share your frustration with the narrow definitions some people have.  I am a bit a shy of "vanilla" because I wasted a lot of time trying to convert one, and I know that there are others like me - NOT vanilla, who require no conversion at all.

But on a group like this, we get to know each other by offering ideas, not by offering questions.  That's not to say that there is anything wrong with questions.

Here's a challenge:  Answer, at length and for yourself, every question that you have posed to these forums in the last 48 hours.

"For the 24/7 folks, where do your live-out or dream fantasies take you?  Without breaking the fourm rules, do you go to deeper and darker into the more taboo aspects of BDSM, or do you go the other direction and instead of escaping into, do you escape out of BDSM?

My fantasy is my reality.

As far as scene or sexual fantasies, lol, they pop in and out of my head often, just depends on what catches my attention. For example, the first time i saw Scooter on a ladder i got an instant vision of just blowing the hell out of him on said ladder.

Darker fantasies, well not to sound jaded but i've been at this a long time, tried everything i really wanted to. For me the fantasy is about doing whatever they wish with the ones i love and am loved by.

I think what i am trying to say is that it is not any specific act that gets me, it is the one i am doing the act with.

Somebody is whipping me; yawn, boring. Scooter is whipping me, i'd damn well better be standing on a tarp.

See.. I don't get this.  I don't see anything wrong with being nilla, if that is where you are happy.  I do see a lot of people who identify as ds simply because they choose to let someone call the shots.  I don't see that as necessarily ds since I still know plenty of women who live happily as housewives, who fix dinner, care for families, ect.  And those same women have nothing to do with domination and submission.  They are just old fashioned ladies who enjoy homemaking.

There is nothing wrong with nilla in my view.

What makes me not nilla is the fact that I get aroused by submitting.  I enjoy engaging in bdsm.  I am kinked  and it makes me horny as heck to be that way.
Why is nilla an insult?  People should be proud to be who they are and not feel it necessary to identify as a submissive, simply because they enjoy a more old fashioned traditional lifestyle.  It is almost as if traditionalists feel the same guilt for being who they are, as the people who are new to bdsm and still hesitant about enjoying perversions.

Nilla is not an insult
