Firefox ain't perfect. I've noticed that profiles look better on ie, editing a journal is easier in ie (my firefox has no choice of background colors), and pm's can be made pretty in ie (can't do it in firefox, don't want to put forth the effort to use codes, I'm guessing if I were savvy I'd be able to figure it out). I'm using firefox, only because it's my preference, but I wish this webiste were firefox friendly.

Do you have the problem where you have to turn off the alignment before you can type anything in the journal box? I have that and its super weird. For a long time I couldn't figure out how to email profiles or write in my journal 'cause of that.

This sounds like the typical Bill Gates type of upgrade which is designed to simply consume more memory and CPU power. So you are a fool to "upgrade" your browser without first buying a new PC.

I get frustrated because things look one way in ie; then when I view in firefox it's all fucked up, journal & profile - margins, fonts, etc.  And I don't understand why there is no background color option for a profile in firefox, yet it is there on ie.  Why can't we all just get along?  hehe

This site is no different for me in IE7 than it was in IE6. Same crap to deal with on the slow load etc. with both versions of the browser. For me it's definitely not the upgrade to IE7 causing it. Was doing it with IE6 already.

Am I the only person who has noticed that Collarme.com is slow as molasses on IE 7?  I just upgraded from IE 6 tonight and everything seems all right, except that this site has become VERY slow.

i have some speed issues with both IE7 and firefox. Could be my laptop though...

Try turning off Tabs & Phishing filter in IE7, it will speed up everything.  Since IE7 & IE 6 are both currently the same for you, you may find IE7 is faster than 6 once you kill the tabs. Something in the prog. is wrong & causes it to act like a TSR, thereby tieing up memory it does not need to.

All you need is the extension for Fire Fox called IETab/view. :D

Must admit I was wondering the same, been considering rolling back to 6.

It shouldnt just be the phishing filter as in theory I have turned that off

Would you mind sharing where that phishing filter is?  i'm really not sure if mine is on or off.  Thanks.

yeah I upgraded for a short time and then went back to 6.  7 is too.. fluffy.  It looks bloated and cutsie.  Blech.
Keeping 6 here, until they allow you to change the skin on 7.

I suggest going into Tools > Internet Options and actually disabling the filter, not just turning it off.  They are two separate things.  Mine is disabled and I am having no issues.

OMG!  i have IE7 and a cable connection and i was just unable to access collarme for over 4 hours!  Other web pages worked, but not CM.  i tried a lot of things then went in and emptied my cache.  i was then able to get in.

Now i just went in and disabled the filter.  Let's see how that works.  Thanks!

There's something going on, and I'm not sure what it is.  I still suspect it has something to do with the phishing filter.  Anyway, everything works fine for me now, but people upgrading to IE 7, and there are going to be hordes of them, seem likely to face this problem with Collarme.com (and not other sites), at least at first.  So if the site managers can figure out what's causing this, sooner rather than later, it might prevent some noobie frustration.

IE is wack.  As a web developer, let me repeat, Internet Explorer is silly.  It has too much proprietary stuff going on.  Firefox is great, though it takes too much memory.  The slowness can definitely be attributed to IE's phishing filter.  If you really want to get an efficient browser, use Opera.  In summary:

IE = silly, tries to imitate Firefox
Firefox = lots of features at expense of memory
Opera = not a whole lot of bang, but most efficient

I have IE 6. Does that have a tabs & phishing filter? I cannot find it in the tools internet options. Bear in mind that everything in my internet options box is in Dutch.

This night everything on CM is slow. It seems better when I deactivate IE and then activate it again and go to CM.

I wonder how many minutes it will take for this message to upload properly. Seems like it took ten to twenty minutes for the previous ones.

No rule, no tabs or phishing filter in IE6.

You could have third party tools that act as an extra gateway tho that could slow down browsing.

I know here that some times of the day are slower than others simply due to network congestion (one of the many reasons I am online when most the country is asleep)
