Lordandmaster -> IE 7 and Collarme.com (1/31/2007 11:35:47 PM)

Am I the only person who has noticed that Collarme.com is slow as molasses on IE 7?  I just upgraded from IE 6 tonight and everything seems all right, except that this site has become VERY slow.

MasterKalif -> RE: IE 7 and Collarme.com (1/31/2007 11:37:15 PM)

yes true...of late it has been slow...now that I have IE 7, it is slow and fast at times....could be the internet connection.

Rule -> RE: IE 7 and Collarme.com (1/31/2007 11:42:33 PM)

I was wondering about that. So now I know. Thanks. Time to log out until CM deals with the problem, I guess.

Except that I do not have IE7. I still use IE6. So that cannot be the cause.

loulou74 -> RE: IE 7 and Collarme.com (1/31/2007 11:48:44 PM)

I get the exact same problem having just upgraded also. It was never this slow before the upgrade and even when I try to read a thread, the page can appear but take for ever to allow me to read further down.  Most frustrating - and this doesnt happen on other sites, just Collarme.

SirKenin -> RE: IE 7 and Collarme.com (2/1/2007 12:02:31 AM)

It is not IE7.  It is the website, independent of the browser from what I can tell.  I have it happen to me at certain times of the day, and other times it is blazing fast.

I upgraded to IE7 and hated it. Went right back to IE6 and its all good.

Why wouldn't you continue to use Firefox?

BitaTruble -> RE: IE 7 and Collarme.com (2/1/2007 12:24:46 AM)

I was having the same issue and as soon as I went back to 6.0, my speed came right back.

SirKenin -> RE: IE 7 and Collarme.com (2/1/2007 12:52:08 AM)

I have seven computers running side by side, running 4 different operating systems and 6 different browsers.

Soooo, as a test I am now running two side by side, one with Windows 2000 Advanced Server and IE 6, the other XP Pro with IE 7.  The website is performing EXACTLY identical in both, so it is very clear that the performance issue is independent of the OS or browser.  Any changes you see between them is strictly your imagination or a fluke.

LadyEllen -> RE: IE 7 and Collarme.com (2/1/2007 1:31:06 AM)

IE7 is crap!

Then I wish my imagination would take me back to pre-IE7 upgrade time lol!!!!

siamsa24 -> RE: IE 7 and Collarme.com (2/1/2007 3:48:28 AM)

Just use FireFox, problem solved!

I wouldn't CONTINUE to use Firefox because I'm not using it now.  I don't like the choice of plug-ins for it.

People get so militant about their pet software.  I'm not pissing in your Wheaties just because I'm not using the same web browser as you.

Edited to add: I really do believe it has something to do with IE 7, by the way.  I've tried accessing the site with IE 7 on this computer and IE 6 on my laptop.  My guess right now is that it has something to do with the new "phishing filter."  And the forums aren't nearly as slow as the other side.  Strange.

KatyLied -> RE: IE 7 and Collarme.com (2/1/2007 8:15:19 AM)

Firefox ain't perfect.  I've noticed that profiles look better on ie, editing a journal is easier in ie (my firefox has no choice of background colors), and pm's can be made pretty in ie (can't do it in firefox, don't want to put forth the effort to use codes, I'm guessing if I were savvy I'd be able to figure it out).  I'm using firefox, only because it's my preference, but I wish this webiste were firefox friendly.

Lorelei115 -> RE: IE 7 and Collarme.com (2/1/2007 8:17:30 AM)

I've noticed that with different web browsers too. I use Firefox, IE6 and Safari, and all seem to have different running speeds for both this and other websites. *shrug* Maybe it IS my mind playing tricks.

Adblock is perhaps the finest plugin ever made.

Given the software engineering skills Microsoft had shown, I had thought it pretty much a foregone conclusion that everyone had pretty much given up hoping MSFT would get it together, and use real software. ( that is, software YOU control, and isn't tied to a corporations 10-K hopes and dreams. Quarterly reports make for shitty software releases. )

sleazy -> RE: IE 7 and Collarme.com (2/1/2007 8:18:58 AM)

Must admit I was wondering the same, been considering rolling back to 6.

It shouldnt just be the phishing filter as in theory I have turned that off

It ain't perfect, but it's better than any of the other options. Perhaps getting the people who wrote the site to go along with STANDARDS rather than the Microsoft Kool-Ade?

hammernhoney -> RE: IE 7 and Collarme.com (2/1/2007 8:23:21 AM)

Your internet is the culprit probally, we switch to sat and even the cloudy days give us problems so we are on dialup with an accelator and working fine.the sat is great for down  loading large files quickly but in snow or rain isn't worth a damm.collarme is operating at a descent speed for us..WILLIAM
