I dont know if i'm just shallow or screwed in the head (i take the second), but as i am gaining weight (the reasons so unimportant for this thread) - i keep running into MAJOR issues with it.  i waiver between not caring and feeling - point blank - ugly, unattractive, not sexy, and well, add your negativity.

i wanna be like you guys!!  Some one teach me how.......... plssss.............. tell me your secrets!

you are pregnant? This is such an important fact to know in this thread...What an honor to be nurturing another life! Maybe if you refocus your attention away from self and onto this new life, you may start viewing your body in a more positive light. There are books out there i am sure - i would also recommend Tai Chi designed for pregnant women. It will help you bring in positive energy and release the negative - this would be most excellent~

I for one agree that the pregnancy is VERY important indeed to this topic. Pregnancy comes with a huge range of hormones that can affect your moods in so many ways, and no "tips, tricks, or secrets" are going to help you battle the hormones. As far as I am aware, a lot of pregnant women go through the exact same mood swings that you are going through right now. I would actually suggest that the best place for you to go to for issues like this would be a board on parenting and motherhood. You can interact with a lot of people there who have gone through the same exact things that you are.

Yeah, I'm overweight. But I'm overweight because I don't eat right and don't get enough exercise. YOU are overweight because you have a new life growing inside of you! That's a reason to be proud of your changing shape, not ashamed! There is a difference there, you see, and I don't think that the things that help me accept myself will work the same for you.

Just my opinion of course.

If you are pregnant (and congrat if you are) then please remember that there may be hormone involved throwing your selfesteam off. Just think of the new life thats with in you, if that is not some thing to be proud of then i don't know what is.

I think the problem could be that sociaty has conviced over wieght people that every thing assosiated with being over wieght is bad, pushing only negatives aspects. By doing this they are creating a negative stereo type of over wieght people. And of course if you only hear negative it will effect your self esteam.

Also being slim is not always a cure for self esteam, self esteam is in the mind. I myself am quite slim and do have problems with self esteam.

On the line of sexieness, the physical aspect is only part of being sexy. Any one can be sexy to some one.

Well, this is a bit of a funny spin on the subject, but, is nice to hear just the same... I by no means have a lot of self confidence, I do try to find the positive aspects of my looks.  But, I don't think I'm a horrible monster either for being "curvy"... lol... but, I've heard said to me before along the lines of you can't have everything... you can not have beautiful eyes, voluptuous breasts, gorgeous face, and pretty hair (fill in your own positive attributes), and be thin — it wouldn't be fair to the rest of the women out there   This was said to me, I'm not stuck on myself by any stretch of the imagination, was so lovely to hear though.

Enjoy what you have to offer the world!  Easier said than done, I know, beleive me. Eating right/healthy and staying active is very important not only for life but also I find for my self-image... even if I am overweight (have been almost all my life), I know I eat right and am active (usually), makes me more confident in myself.

Ladies that are overweight can have a beautiful mind as beauty is in the eye of the the beholder. And the most ugly lady can be very pretty to someonelse.Personally im more interested in someones personality as oppposed to looks. As some of the most prettiest women can be very nasty also larger ladies at least do tend to have a sense of humour.
