curiously -> i'm whinging, i know, but... (1/25/2007 10:50:27 AM)

after a week of trying, all manner of different combinations, i'm still without a main profile picture.
 
despite having kept to the letter of the "community guidelines" (no obvious bdsm, no macro, no this and no that), i've had a raft of my photos, taken by myself, of myself - rejected because "Reason: Any photos you didn't take yourself are not permitted. This includes professional photos, copyrighted works, and artwork."
 
but the irony!
 
the only photograph of mine i could upload onto my profile is a grainy, super-saturated picture of myself (which i had edited in photoshop to look like it came from a mobile phone camera instead of my pretty nikon coolpix).
 
is there some unwritten law that kinky people must be bad at photography?

Some people are just too ugly to have their picture approved[:D]

but really..you aren't the only one who's had troubles. I can upload whatever pic I want but I know many have troubles with it I don't exactly know how the picture-choosing-people think..

well, if you are posting this here, it is pretty plain that while you may have read SOME of the rulesets here, you goddamn sure don't understand them.

And to answer your question...I think they are denied a lot of times if the file is too large.  Try reducing.

Didn't you see that in the TOS? LOL

Try taking a picture of you sitting in a chair with a normal wall background. It can be a good quality pic, but make it obvious you're sitting on your ass at home. Also, you have the option of putting that "Photos are available upon request" and sharing the really good ones.

Oh, and if you're putting in for a service submissive, make the background look neat and tidy!

Not sure if this is just cute or serious- whinge is the British term for whine.  Perfectly acceptable substitution.

I had this problem when I was trying to put my ass pic up.  I tried reducing....and reducing....and reducing.........

Had the same problem.  Got the same rejection notice.  I contacted someone and explained it was a pic I took myself (and pointed out that if they looked carefully, they could even see my arm holding the camera).  It worked.  Good luck.
