Hi. I would like some thoughts on this. I am very much a submissive and have no real interest in being dominant but i love to tie people up. The whole act of it seeing it tighten and each coil line up side by side. Its amazing watching it come together. Anybody else feel like this or have thoughts on it. Thanks

wow, i thought I'm the only submissive who likes to be on both end of the rope. I love to be tied up, and I love to tie people up. I like the releasing feeling of being tied up, and the technical handy work of tie people up really appears to me. It's not so much a "dominate" thing, I don't feel that I'm dominating the person I tie up. I just like to work with rope, the same way I like to draw people, I like to do crafts. It's all very technical to me. I guess it won't make much of a different if I tied up a wood statue...but it's much fun to tie up a real person. and I'm actually over at friends' house, and I plan to tie someone up tonight :)

Glad to hear that i am not alone in this. I noticed that you have a love for drawing and crafts... as i was an art major in school i notice the similarity. Perhaps it stems from my appreciation in art that draws me to it. Thank you for the reply

you're very welcome :) I'm an art major too. First BFA in illustration, second BA in 3D animation. A nicely done tie is truly a piece of art work. I guess you're right, it's the art that draws us into tie people up even we're submissive.

I finished with a BA in Studio Art...more general in nature but i got a good overall lesson in many art processes. Though as a jr and sr i dedicated much of my study to photography and currently am running my own business and have my own studio. As far as a tie is concened, it really is artwork. I love to look at it and practice it. I saw in your profile that you have been in this for about a year and have had a brief live in experience. I would love to talk about you experiences.

This is where I draw the distinction between Dominant/sub and Top/bottom. One can be a top without being a dom. Believe me, plenty are. And there's no shame in that ;) Do what makes you happy.

i am submissive, but i love being on both sides or the rope. But as i'm realising is fairly common from reading this thread, my love of tying is very much an asthetic thing - i love the look of what i can create with the rope and the person, and how it can make them feel while tied.

I know many subs that like to top, and many more who do bondage. I love ropes and do bondage for others who what it or have teamed with a Dom or Femdom and the rope work for them, the turn the scene over to them to do the nasty suff to the bottom all tied up.

In the public here in the DC area there are many sub women who feel the same way you do. The big ongoing joke is they say "I love to tie people up, but after that someone else has to come in and play with them. I just set up the scene for the Dom as a service as indeed I'm not a Top." I think the rpoes pull many of us from many perspectives. I too learned basic rope play from the top side so that when I get tied I know if it's safe. LOL I even tied a freind up to send photos to her Sir who lives far away once. LOL it was cool to see her in ropes I made pretty, but much like the subs who tie people up in the dungeon after she was tied all I was willing to do was thake the shots and untie her. Intresting that many share the joy in tying up people even if they are fully submissive.

Thanks being Dominant and being Submissive is not the same as Being a Top or a Bottom. Their is more that a few Submissives in this world that are very capable Top's. and can also be very capable Bottom's.. not to forget that their is more that a few Dominants that can do both as well.

Also, there simply is no limit to what orientations a person can fill- you can be a slave AND a top AND a bottom AND a sadist AND a masochist. It's combinatorics- think of a combination and it exists out there, likely by more than a handful.

Just as long as you are clear with people that its not about topping or dominating them I don't think there's an issue at all. C~

I think rigging is a very creative sport and tends to fascinate those with either an artistic or mathematical passion about life. I love rigging a sub and taking photos; that's probably one of My greatest personal pleasures re: WIITWD. While I'm not a sub by any means, I did always enjoy being bound during numerous training sessions long ago. Bondage, in and of itself, is a fetish that can be set apart from one's BDSM orientation, whether Dom/Domme/Top or sub/slave/bottom. At least, it certainly is for Me. TexasMaam

Hi all thank you for all the responses. when i started this thread i never thought it would travel this far but i love that it has. after talking to a few people from here i definitely think my love of tying stems from my love of art. the look and feel that can come from basic strands of rope is increadible. there really is nothing like watching it come together.

the best thing about it is that a submissive can tie themselves up to... I LOVE ROPE, its my all time fav, and i go nuts over both ends of the rope, whether it is me tying, or being tied..YEAH.. so you are not alone, many others out there like you...I tie myself or others, never my owner, thats the line he draws....

Wow, Now I know I am not the only one too. I am a Sub, but did get to do some things to MADAM's Husband, using Rope and things. Not only Boy Scouts can tie Knots, BalletBob....the Sailor Sub
