If it is a politician, you can tell they are lying when you see their lips moving ;-)

Those seem pretty logical. I know I was taught for my job that many do not clue into is when a person lashes out that is a sign they have not told the truth and are then just going for intimidation to get their way.

I think outside of the observe body language which is something you cannot do online, that it would save a lot of people time and hassle if they printed out the list and used it proactively when searching for someone online and not get side swiped by someone too far down the road.

I think you can call the author of that article "Captain Obvious".  What I would have liked to have seen was them to delve into the more subtle nuances of lying, one such artform is making up a story to fit a time frame that sounds plausible and could have easily happened, and being such a compulsive, gifted liar they can look you straight in the eye without flinching and give an Oscar winning performance.  I have seen it happen.  Those are the tricky ones.  I almost always catch them, but that could possibly only be because I am very cynical.

And what do you do when you come up with a person who can look you directly in the eyes, calmly and sincerly lie through their teeth.

Liars also tend to get angry when confronted with the truth

They tend to try and "flip" things making you the bad person.

They also try and discredit any one else involed that "says" they are lying

they'll even try and discredit you

they'll try and manipulate you into believing their truth

They'll also point out all their good deeds and make you feel guilty for thinking such a thing

Liars are a pain in the ass and sometimes trying to prove that a liar is lying is next to impossible.  Its like slamming your head into a brick wall  - you get no where.  Its a very wearing thing.

Yeah, I've found this too.  Generally (though obviously it varies depending on the circumstances), if you catch someone out in a lie and they don't come clean very soon afterwards, they never will.  The sods.
