Have a rose on the head of my penis. Goes from a small rose to a bigger rose depending on circumstances. Was rather interesting having it done by a lady tattoo artist.

Now this is something you will probably rarely hear a woman say online.. but damn, I'd like to see a pic of that!

My shoulder tattoo as you can see is an ankh with a rose wrapped around it and a circle of blue surrounding it. The ankh symbolizes the darkness of eternity, the rose is for my Mother and symbolises her, and the blue ribbon is the circle of life death & rebirth. Essentiall a mother's love lasts through the darkness of eternity and its cycle of life, death and rebirth. The flower on the inside of my left thigh is for cinnamon which is my personal herb and I apparently smell a little bit like it. And I have a tattoo circling my right ankle which is a quote from Hamlet, Shakespeares play. It says "Hamlet, Act I, Scene IV, Line CXV" The line is "One may smile, and smile and be a villan." That is how I take many, many people in the life. My ink is very much important to me because I thought about most of it (save for the flower) beforehand.

I agree with everyone else on their opinion, if you have to ask, don't get it.

Toodles!

Wyld

(Fast reply):
My tattoos are deeply symbolic to me- and something I spent three years working on before I decided to actually get them with the design I loved so much. I drew them up myself, and brought them to a trusted tattoo artist I knew whose work was exquisite. They aren't BDSM related, except for a carefully hidden keyhole and key in them- they are more related to my own journey through life than related to this lifestyle.

I've included a link to a picture- the top one is on my right hip, the bottom on my left, right over the crests. Each is about 3 inches high and 1 3/4 inches wide, symmetrically placed and with some slight differences between them. I knew from the beginning that I wanted them to look like the mehndi painting used in Moroccan culture, so a lot of the style is adopted from that, as is the coloring (I think the henna color looks way more natural on my skin than black would). Each part of it has a specific meaning, including the number of dots placed around each tattoo, the things contained in each, and the borrowing of various symbols.

To the OP:
Tattoos are very personal- think about what you love, what encompasses that, who you are, and what would be something you want to see every day for the rest of your life. My tattoos are memories in an artistic form, a symbol for me of where I have been and where I want to go. I really encourage you to either design your own or work with a tattoo artist you really like to create something meaningful to you.

Hope this helps-

I have a couple tattoos that mean the world to me... as cliched as they are. One is the japanese symbol for sin, and underneath it a rose with 2 tribal blades running behind it. the symbol is something that 3 of my closest friends got. and the rose wiuth tribal blades behind  was done soon after I lost all of them to really tragic passings. It may look unoriginal, but it means so much. But I also have 2 tattoos I got purely on impulse. Do I regret them? Hell no. Not at all. Not one iota, because i got them with my best friend, during one of the best weeks I've had since the years of saturday morning tattoos. Thats a memory I'll have for a long long time.

First tattoo: Lost a very signifcant amount of weight, got a tat of a butterfly symbolizing transformation on my breast, got it as a plain outline so I could color it in to match my lingerie

Second tattoo: celebration of handling my divorce so maturely, center is a yin yang, surrounded by a compass rose done in celtic knot style, symbolizing balance and direction, and honoring my heritage. left arm

Third Tattoo: celebration of becoming a domme 'officially' celtic knot representative of a turtle.  Hard shell, soft inside.  Cold blooded but intelligent, slow and steady, but strong and determined, etc. etc. etc.

Planned tats for the future:  Full Back panel of a butterfly, with a goddess as the 'body' of the butterfly, wings done as stain glass borders around four 'panels' to be filled in with symbols later as life continues.  This will be done as a celebration of recovery, and triumph over all the negativity that has plagued my last 2 years of existence, when I finally break free of all my debts, AND finish my degree (goddess body along spine for degree, wings for debts paid off)

In regards to tat's (I have10) you have to get something that means soemthing to you.

I try to avoid typical ones, and attempt to put My own stamp onto them, there is nothing wrong in My eyes for asking for ideas because you never know someone might think of something you didn't orginally think off :)

Ok for My tats I have 5 on each of My arms above My wrists so I can show them, on My life (It's My casting hand) is two bands that wrap around My forearm, just above My wrist is a Welsh design (shows the welsh blood I have in Me) then a modified Eye of Ra (through My eyes I hear) My life symbol and My mental state. Then on top is a celtic band to show family and that I have irish blood in Me. (Like a big bracelet that extends up My forearm)

On My right arm is written in english and My greatest achievement to date.  looks kindda like this.

            B
            E
E          Y         O
M         O         B
P          N         D
A          D         U
T                      R
H         A          A
I           F          T
C         R           E
           I
          C
          A

TENACIOUS

:)  Thats what I have, each one is important to Me.

WoS

P.S I know it looks wonky but it's all striaght on the understand of My forearm :P

Hi everybody. I considering getting another tattoo that is bdsm related. Anyone with ideas or tattoo pics? Let me know.

Personally, I'm finding the blank canvas of flesh to be a rare and refreshing thing these days. A tastefully applied symbol or tribal banding here or there is nice—but there is a fine line between body aesthetics and gratuitous skin graffiti. I suppose this is my contribution to the overall pool of ideas for this thread.

Aine -> RE: Body art (1/19/2007 2:44:47 PM)

I agree.

I have two tattoos of my own, one on my right hip when I turned 18, and one on my lower back.

Both celtic in design and earthy.

I have been told by many that my back/shoulders (general torso area from behind lol) was of a beautiful shape, strong, broad shoulders that lent to a soft V shape that helped accentuate the soft curves yet also showed the delicacy of bone structure and milky skin.

Meh....gawd that ended up flowery. [:'(]

Anywho.  For some reason, I've always been proud of the view others had of my back and it became my personal favorite body part.   Which I've noticed sometimes gets strange looks when people ask the ever popular question of what we think our best features are physically.  From what I've noticed is that most people will say eyes, legs, hair...etc etc.

When I got the idea for the tattoo on my back, it was an attempt to accentuate what I feel is the most beautiful part of my physical form.  And I've had ideas since then on others that I wanted to get on my back.

Which leads me back to my original point.  After having even more time to think about it (due to lack of time and funds to acutally get any more tattoos) I've come to realize that perhaps I should leave it as it is for now, rather than covering it up.

Or maybe consider something way daintier and simpler to accentuate the features of my back instead of the giant irish cross that I wanted to get with the circle replaced with the tree of life.   I'm realizing that that would be utterly HUGE on my back. And expensive, and involved, and not much of my skin would still be visible.
