Hard Limit Pairs - 1/7/2007 11:57:00 AM

Status: offline 		Today I got a nice letter from a CMer so as I often do I took a look at the profile behind the letter.

One thing that caught my eye was the following list:

Hard Limits
Diapers
Aromatherapy


It doesn't get much better than that, does it?  Or does it?

Have you seen or imagined any interestimg pairings, or trios, or what-have-you, from the Limits list or the Loves list or any of those other profile lists?

Status: offline 		they said housecleaning was a hard limit in one profile and the same one then listed opera as a hard limit.

I have had some flack for listing conservative politics as a hard limit. I guess it seems incredible to some people that I would not want to become involved with a conservative. I have had several emails that list couples that are not evenly matched as political pairs, like I care...smiles.

Well if you don't care, you'd obviously never fit in with thre Caring Conservatives.

I'm Liberal in some respects but it wouldn't be hard to list a number of Conservatives I'd enjoy being sadistic to. And come to think of it they  have all demonstrated that they enthusiastically approve of non-consensual pain application, so it's all good.

Status: offline 		I asked a novice submissive to fill out a fetish checklist for me a few years ago.  When I got it back, he said that having his food chosen for him was a hard limit.  He also said that he was very interested in scat play.  I looked at this pairing and scratched my head over it.  Food bad, shit OK.  I finally asked him about it, and he said that he was a vegan and there were some things that he would not eat (he would also not be comfortable licking leather -- I asked).  Fine, I thought.  I got it.

I discussed this with my best friend, because I found it amusing.  Dave always seems to see the perverse heart of any matter.  He asked if I would need to refrain from eating animal products for the 24 hours before engaging in scat play with that person.

Status: offline 		I didn't see this on CM, but this actually occurred in a telephone conversation with a male submissive a few years back where W/we were discuss limits.  He told Me a Domme that smoked was an absolute hard limit for him.  He was a very health-conscious guy and said that under no circumstances would he ever subject himself to anyone else's second hand smoke.  That was fine with Me, since I'm a non-smoker. 
 
I went on to tell him that scat play was an absolute hard limit for Me, as I consider it a significant health risk.  He sounded disappointed and said that was a shame, because it was something he really looked forward to exploring.  It kind of amazed Me that he thought second-hand smoke was more of a health risk than scat play, but it takes all kinds in this world.

rofl. i do see the irony in that...i didn't list weight watchers on my profile at all, i don't think, but i'm overweight and weight watchers could be considered something like a hard limit for me simply because i don't like their approach to weight loss and food, and because i have a very  complicated relationship/history with food.

i'm trying to think if i have any really weird ones. i hate conservative politics, but my dominant is conservative, so we manage ;) political activism is definitely a hard limit for me, but i love volunteerism.

i just ran across a profile with ass play, bondage, and spanking all listed as hard limits. while the psychological part of d/s is my favorite, isn't that just taking all the fun out of it? the same person "loves" shibari, but lists bondage as a hard limit, i'm smelling a contradiction :P

profiles are so much fun to analyze.

Status: offline 		There is one person here who lists a Hard Limit as "Opera" and professes to "Love" "Knitting" . I know he's kidding, and I know that's not a "pair", but he's a male submissive and it just cracked me up when I read it! He also professes to "Live For"  "Nihilism", and I know that's a joke, too - and it just made me laugh. Too funny.

The obvious question to my mind is...

Lets say you eat a hamburger.

Would he eat your scat 24-48 hours later?
