During my extensive search over the holidays for the perfect collar for my submissive, I stumbled across a site that carried "Domme Collars".  They were very elaborate and quite attractive, but I have to question whether or not there is really a place in the community for these items.  Wouldn't it be a bit confusing or do you think that the attitude of the person wearing it (along with the way they carry themselves) would make it obvious to everyone that it's not an ownership collar?  Perhaps they could be worn simply as BDSM jewelry?  To be honest, they were pretty enough that I considered buying one myself, but decided in the end not to.  I'd be interested in other's opinions.

I dont know that it wuld be a terribly appropraite thing to have take off.  ASide fromthe fact that they are probably only a women's accessory, hence even dominant women are collared type stereotyping comeing out fo the woodwork.. I dont know that Id want to give the impression (true or otherwise) that I am owned.

My opinion of course, not to necessarily agree or disagree wiht anyone elses

I have a collar or two that I wear because I like the look ... but then again, I'm a switch ...

Lol it's confusing enough without Dommes wearing collars.  I'm sure if warn in a certain way with obviousclother it would make it known, but I may personally get a bit confused.

If you like it, why not?  I can't imagine anyone being all that confused and if they are...I am sure you will set them straight.

I have seen some pretty Domme collars, too, but personally have absolutely no interest in getting one.  I have plenty of lovely necklaces I can wear if I want something to adorn My neck.

There are clueless individuals around who think every Female is a submissive anyway (or should be), regardless of how She carries Herself, and wearing a symbol normally associated with a submissive wouldn't help matters any.

Of course, this is strictly My opinion, and any Domme is free to do as she chooses.

One of the things about being dominant is you get to do what you want to do.  What kind of a dominant would consent to be fashion topped by the community?  If you like a look, wear it.

I don't get it but that doesn't mean that it shouldn't be done.

It is already confusing enough (for me anyway) to be in a scene-friendly environment with unowned submissives wearing them for fashion... I've avoided many people over the years because I perceived them as "taken" when they were in fact completely available. One night in fact I was very interested in one person at a party & he seemed to be very interested in me but I never approached him because he was wearing a collar. Later that night after the party was over several of us who stayed behind to close down & put equipment away were hanging out & I mentioned the guy & asked who he belonged to & I was told he was completely single & looking. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Never saw the guy again!

I think I have seen the same site.  The collars are really just for adornment.  They have no rings to hook a leash too.  But very pretty.

I have a few collars, smaller with elegant ornamentation. I wear Mine as a symbol during lifestyle functions to show that though I am a Mistress to My girl, I still am and always will be property to My Master. It is the only time I have ever been submissive/slave to Anyone, and I make the point to show all the proper etiquette and respect as His submissive when necessary.

My submissives/slaves wear collars that are more plain or better suited for leashes etc. I have not ever worn one of the collars intended for the slaves...and unless under punishment doubt He would ever make Me.

As for this site you mentioned...share the link pleeeease...they sound nice!

I keep planning to get double sided tshirts that say "Im the dom" and "Im the sub" printed on them so people won't get so confused at parties.  But then I know we'd get naked, and probably turn them around at least once during the party, so I doubt they'd be much help really.

If you like it, use it.

You are correct.  There is no ring to attach anything to.

I love the feeling of a choker, and with the styles of dress I tend to wear, they are very flattering......  I have met very few BDSM people (except Goreans, but we can keep that on the another thread) who have EVER asked my D/s classification.  I had someone tell me recently, even kneeling on the floor with my arm on a male friend's knee, it was still blatantly clear I was domina....... hehe  Misinterpretation from a collar seems comparatively unlikely.

Dear MstrssScarlet, Ladies and Gentlemen;

Interesting to hear about a "Domme Collar."

I never seen "Domme" as anything correct or right about it.  Dominatrix, Dama and or Damia I can tolerate.  But, "Domme" is so--well--

It isn't bad enough for Dominant women to be given respect, though some aren't respectful but, a collar is an old symbolism and will just add to the confusion.

Necklaces aren't good enough?  Pity.

Just some thoughts.

Respectfully submitted for consideration,
Lady Hugs

Of course you should wear what you like as long as you accept that the vast majority of folks will probably take any collar to mean you are a submissive. If you can live with that, go for it.

I looked at the link but I didn't see "Domme" collar... I did see a catagory that was named Dom

but these collars were just dressy styles of vampire collars with spikes... keeps one's neck from being nibbled on

I kinda like having my neck nibbled on... hehehe

Wow, those collars are lovely! Seems a shame to let the subs hog 'em all.
