katzschen -> Profile pictures - MySpace vs. CollarMe (1/3/2007 2:43:19 AM)

Just a thought... has anybody else noticed you can post naughtier photos on MySpace than you can here? Which is funny, considering MySpace is geared towards the under-18 crowd (I would say 14-24 being main age base, just an educated guess). Now I'm not complaining about not being able to post naughty pictures. But there is something wrong here (here as in what I'm saying in my post, not CollarMe).

BBWMistresss -> RE: Profile pictures (1/3/2007 2:51:24 AM)

Lucky you can post a picture. I have tried several times but they won't let me. (at CollarMe)

katzschen -> RE: Profile pictures - MySpace vs. CollarMe (1/3/2007 2:56:53 AM)

Well, perhaps it has something to do with your picture. If you're not sure why it's not approved, contact a Mod.

But seriously... you can post bondage shots, most nude shots, and whatnot on MySpace... where minors have easy access to them! Does anyone else find something wrong with this?

BBWMistresss -> RE: Profile pictures (1/3/2007 2:59:44 AM)

I didn't know you can contact a Mod so thanks for the advice. Anyhow it is just a picture from me but face not shown. MySpace was known for the guidelines not to post nudes etc only when adult was on.

katzschen -> RE: Profile pictures - MySpace vs. CollarMe (1/3/2007 3:03:22 AM)

All the MySpace profiles I have seen have publicly available bondage or nude photos posted. I know there are some rules about it, and have heard of one or two profiles having pictures removed. But for the most part they are there and available for viewing by minors.

dvart -> RE: Profile pictures - MySpace vs. CollarMe (1/3/2007 3:19:28 AM)

Thank goodness for minors otherwise there would be no reason to "protect" the rest of us adults.

katzschen -> RE: Profile pictures - MySpace vs. CollarMe (1/3/2007 4:05:52 AM)

Well it's not just minors that need protecting... how many people go on a site like MySpace expecting to find bondage or nudity? How many people browse MySpace in a public area, the family computer, a library, the office, etc.? Would you really expect to see that on MySpace? Does it make any sense that you see it on MySpace but not CollarMe?

FatDomDaddy -> RE: Profile pictures - MySpace vs. CollarMe (1/3/2007 4:11:34 AM)

I am not exaxctly sure what you want but there are a slew of topless and topless bound photos on this site. I don't think it is really meant to be a porn or even erotica site and compared to B and others, this one is free, with free mail too.

onestandingstill -> RE: Profile pictures (1/3/2007 4:17:07 AM)

When I downloaded a photo in myspace they did make my profile an adult one, but all you have to do is click yes you're over 18 so you know kids see them any way.
I think collarme is just playing it safe with the online porn restrictions so they'll be here for us a long time.
I say we may not be able to put out all the photos in our profile, but you can e-mail them here to people and it's a free site so at least lol you are getting your money's worth out of it at minimum.

Fitznicely -> RE: Profile pictures - MySpace vs. CollarMe (1/3/2007 4:18:02 AM)

Myspace is a cesspit, designed to appeal to the technically inept and the lowest common denominator of internet user. It's full of predators, manic depressives and egomaniacs....oh, and a shitload of bands who can't afford their own webspace and want exposure in the teen market.

It's the vanilla equivalent of Alt dot com [:D]

I don't like Myspace. Can you tell?

katzschen -> RE: Profile pictures - MySpace vs. CollarMe (1/3/2007 4:18:56 AM)

You have missed the point. I am not complaining about lack of naughty photos on this site; it's quite nice, actually. I have seen topless but not bound, as topless photos are allowed on the site and per my knowledge, photos of bondage are not. However, does it seem off to anyone but myself that MySpace, a website geared towards minors, is more slack with the bondage/nude photo policy?

katzschen -> RE: Profile pictures - MySpace vs. CollarMe (1/3/2007 4:24:27 AM)

onestandingstill: Maybe it is because I'm over 18 and my profile on MySpace has me over 18, but I don't have to click on anything and can see all the profiles and the naughty pictures. It's a theory.
It is true, however, that minors will lie about their age. I know that for a fact. But I also don't believe MySpace enforces half of their policies. And now we've got 300 pictures to toy with there.

julietsierra -> RE: Profile pictures - MySpace vs. CollarMe (1/3/2007 4:29:38 AM)

It's precisely BECAUSE MySpace is not a site dealing specifically in some sexual element that the microscope is not on them. Sites like this and others like it are under a lot of scrutiny simply because of the content. While MySpace probably SHOULD be watched more closely, with literally hundreds of new profiles/rooms/whatever they're called being opened daily, covering a myriad of topics, I'm sure that keeping an eye on these is a  bit more difficult than in here. But what do I know? I'm not a computer person. It just seems logical to me.

katzschen -> RE: Profile pictures - MySpace vs. CollarMe (1/3/2007 4:34:18 AM)

You would think, as much as it's been on the news lately for problems with sexual predators and whatnot, it'd be watched more closely... But such is life... keep the deviant ones under close surveillance but the seemingly normal sites can do whatever the hell they want.
Blah... I need to step down off my soapbox and get some sleep.

... because the content is offensive to the American Taliban running the US Department of "Justice".

HatesParisHilton -> RE: Profile pictures - MySpace vs. CollarMe (1/3/2007 3:21:24 PM)

well, I started a thread a bit similar to this one.  http://www.collarchat.com/m_753843/tm.htm

no need to look at it for the purpose of this one, but http://www.adultspace.com is mentioned, it seems less annoying than myspace (I also intensely dislike that site's schematic), plus, nude shots require an invite from the person to another before the other can see the nudie nudie.  Of course as long as there is a thong/g-string or no nipples things appear to go up fast.  and the pages load fast (unlike myspace).

But there, you can post things on your page you cannot do here, like urls and such, and no restrictions on innocent pics (such as faces featuring the eyes; let's face it, eyes can get a BIG reaction and they are diallowed on collarme profiles to a large extent).  So while I totally support this site and it's advantages I like that I can have a page there where I can both post my own face freely, and yet also post naughty pics of "what I like" so if someone is built like Paris Hilton, I don't waste her time.

RE the myspace allowance of naughty crap and the lack of monitoring, well, it's lame.  Just as lame as youtube becoming "PG rated" as soon as google bought it.

mgdartist -> RE: Profile pictures - MySpace vs. CollarMe (1/3/2007 5:32:42 PM)

Seems everyone is afraid to actually complain...lol I just can't be as it's too much fun.
Won't do a shred of good though, from what I've seen here. CM is rigid and unwavering in it's policies, and seem to run things by the "captain rule" without actually posting it anywhere.

The Captain Rule? oh, thought you'd never ask:

"My house...MY FUCKING RULES
Like it"

I agree with the OP, bur ooh, think I'd get in trouble for saying stuff?
I think their picture policies pretty much bite, are unfair, in that they let ladies reveal what ever, but rarely men.
Which seems sexist, and while I don't care to see men, I never do, since I only browse the female subs of my state, who absolutely NEVER invite me to view their offsite webcams like all the hottresses at myspace do constantly.
And if myspace is a cesspit, CM is a pot of oatmeal without any milk sugar honey or butter. *yawn*

BRNaughtyAngel -> RE: Profile pictures - MySpace vs. CollarMe (1/3/2007 5:46:49 PM)

Myspace profiles are not supposed to contain nudity and are often yanked if reported as inappropriate.  What I have noticed is that people will use photo editing software to make nude photos look more "artsy" and nothing is done about them.  Photobucket is a free photo hosting site and they will also yank nude pics, but I've seen the "artsy" looking ones on there as well, so people do find a way around it.

I do like the fact that I'm not talking to someone's penis, tits or pussy on this site.  [sm=rolleyes.gif][sm=lol.gif] LOL!

Maybe they don't have humans review the pics on MySpace unless someone figures out how to complain about one specifically?

You didn't finish the Captain's Quote and I really think you should have.  If you don't like it, LEAVE.  It's just as simple as that.
