Pixiepunk -> Burning a Cd (12/17/2006 11:38:48 AM)

Well I'm burning *trying to burn* a cd right now and I realized I hate all the music I listen to. Any suggestions for some different music? I listen to anything and everything so fire away.

Level -> RE: Burning a Cd (12/17/2006 11:48:56 AM)

     If a scene involves screaming, I like to play "Careful With That Ax Eugene" by Pink Floyd...  It covers nicely.

I'd say you can't go wrong with older Pink Floyd stuff. That seems to be nearly universally liked. As far if you are looking for good new music, LOL, I think that doesn't exist. I just burned some cd's for somebody about your age. And I was literally in pain listening to it to make sure it burned correctly. Fergilicious. LOL, I thought it was a joke. But it's a big hit.  The newest stuff I find tolerable. Would be like Tool, A couple manson songs.

Here's my list of what I'd listen to.
Pink Floyd
Pantera
Some Elton John(The older stuff)
Some Metallica
Some Nirvana
Some Pearl Jam
Some Journey
Some Guns N' Roses
Alanis Morisette
Some Beatles
Some Nine Inch Nails
Creedance
Some Eagles
Some Tool
A couple Marilyn Manson
Rob Zombie

Hmmmmmmmmm,

Look at the soundtracts to these movies.

1. Breaking the Waves

2. Clock Work Orange

3. Pink Floyds The Wall

4. Brain Scan

I don't think you'll be disapointed.

Also, research a composer named William Schmidt. There's something about his music that I think will fit into your personality very nicely.

It'd help to know just WHAT you were listening to that you hated.

Ya know...I don't understand everyone's kink either...but burning someone just 'cause they like to wear heels and a bra just doesn't seem right to me.

spankmepink11 -> RE: Burning a Cd (12/18/2006 4:12:29 PM)

Hi Pixiepunk,

This guy is my most recent favorite, it's kind of primal funk....
check out his website  http://vinx.com/index.php?page=bio     He  also has a myspace site that has samples of his music.
I had the opportunity to see him live in a very small venue and he was incredible.  I have the Grits & Pate CD

mgdartist -> RE: Burning a Cd (12/18/2006 5:23:46 PM)

One can easily hear mine and see some kinky pics i've ahem, "enhanced" here.
Guess I doubt anyone will wanna hear what another person who's sick of musicians like's, but who knows?
Sorry, but without a visual, all I can think of are lame guys jammin' off on their axe's and noise-makers (waaaay too loud.)

happypervert -> RE: Burning a Cd (12/18/2006 5:33:12 PM)

I didn't see an blues in there; for starters try:

Howlin Wolf
John Lee Hooker
Stevie Ray Vaughn

or Jazz:

Thelonius Monk
Miles Davis (especially anything from the Kind of Blue cd)
Wayne Shorter

or African:

King Sunny Ade
Tabu Ley Rochereau
Fela Kuti

And of course, you really need the godfather of soul, James Brown, and some Talking Heads won't hurt either

3. Pink Floyds The Wall

It's "tracks" and you do know that "The Wall" was an album BEFORE it was a movie/soundtrack?
