Thing is, you'd be surprised how many submissives want to experience that level of being so deeply controlled that all mental, emotional, and behavioral responsibility is given to someone else - it's that Hammer Horror hypnotic and seductive vampire thing that she wants to feel. Lost in thought, lost in feeling, lost to complete submission.

that's EXACTLY it......how wonderfully well You summed that up (i saved that to use in the future when ever someone asks me about my interest in this now....thanks!)

Funny enough even though I absolutely relate to and have practiced hypnosis with this feel before I find it incredibly amusing at how many usually rational and well versed people are willing to suddenly jump up and be the stoic  white knight protector against this form of consensual play.

People will fear what they don't understand.  Which means my introduction of others to hypnosis means that I have to go pure clinical (these are my hands, note how clean they are. This is hypnosis and this is how it works from the very basics from the ground up, to the work I do.  Note how serious I am and how well I prep, inform and take care of those I work with.  Also note how this is not a subject I take lightly and how serious I am about the well being of those I work with).

And even with all that, people still act like superstitious freaks. Surprisingly the most adamant/Narrow minded/ill willed people I have met were "therapists" who swore that they and only they had a right to use hypnosis on others.

Erotic hypnosis can be VERY heady play.  But again I say it involves great amounts of trust and even greater amounts of work with the subject .  My favourite example is knowing about the subjects fears ect because the last thing you want to do is have them going deeper into a trance by visualizing they are floating on a cloud when they are afraid of heights or relaxing next to the water when they are agoraphobic.     Whatever works for those involved (negotiations) and making sure there is plenty of after care to work  with any questions or the subject not feeling fully grounded ect.

As for potions and ways to bring a person under more easily, I've actually used the placebo effect  for  two past subjects and it worked very well. I'm not sure if you would call it self hypnosis or waking suggestion but the gist of it was as follows:

I would get them to pour a liquid (juice,  flavoured water, sports drink ect) into a small container.  I would have them pour a quarter of a spoon full for themselves and put the container away and stare with all their concentration, breath, thoughts and focus on the full spoon and repeat to themselves out loud or in their head that this spoon of liquid was an incredibly powerful mind control drug and that it allowed them to be more easily hypnotised. Id have them stare and concentrate for 3-5 minutes then swallow it, convinced that they could feel its effects. Each new day they would add a small bit more and "feel" the effects when they swallowed it down, till on the last day I had them pour a half a glass and stare at the glass. Knowing that "this was it!" and that they could hardly get it all down.  The drug in the glass was that powerful!    I can't compare how they would have acted had they not used the placebo but the effects were quite wonderful and they were amazing subjects.  It also played in to the being seduced by hypnosis and "under someone else's power".

Then again when I was having them deepen their trance state I gave them each a shot glass of water and told them it was a potent hypnotic drug and if they chose to it would allow them to go much deeper.  Again their belief allowing them to "feel" much more hypnotized. Fun stuff  :)

Paradoxic and ShadowLurker.  I agree with what you have both written on the subject. Great posts :)

My dad was a hypnotherapist and has hypnotized me most of my life, when it was needed. i started getting migranes when i was really young, about 5, and no doctors would belive me for a long time, once they realized they were migranes, were wary of putting me on meds because of my age, so i was basically left to suffer with them. My dad hypnotized me and placed a trigger to aleviate the pain in the future. Was really amazing. Even as a kid i thought it was the coolest thing, "dude, my dad can pull the migrane right out of my head!"

Only downside, if you can call it that, is that with the amount of experience i had in my younger years, i became, and remain, very easily hypnotized. To the point where several years ago, i volunteered for one of those stage hypnotists at a fair, i went right under, and wound up cussing a guy out up down and sideways because she'd told me he was pinching my ass. So after that, besides my dad, i won't let anyone else even try.

Totally sidetracked from the original topic with orgasms and such, but it's probably a REALLY good thing i don't have any of those kinda stories about my dad lol.

I took a hypnosis class a couple of months back, and found... I cannot be hypnotized.

The instructor started with discussion, then relaxation, then a sequence with commands in it. When the first command came, I was not paying attention, but I felt a small--but painful!--sunburst[sm=ugh.gif] in My left thigh. OW! Then I relaxed, and when the second command came, another sunburst[sm=ugh.gif]. At the third occurrence, I became suspicious.

I watched, and sure enough, each of the final two commands was accompanied by a tiny yellow ball of pain[sm=ugh.gif] in My left thigh!

I asked the instructor about it after class. He said I wasn't hypnotizeable. Oh, well.

I will study more to learn to do it well. At least I already know what NOT to do to someone in a trance. That is the most important part!
