The cover headline on the front of my Netscape ISP was "Cheney's Openly Lesbian Daughter Pregnant". http://channels.isp.netscape.com/celebrity/weekinent.jsp?gal=went_weekof121006&current=went_marycheneyexpecting_1206&floc=NI-ntk1 Makes me wanna shoot someone! If I were married and they wrote a headline, would it say "(My name) Openly Heterosexual Guy's Wife is Pregnant"? This is crap.

No, but that's what makes something "newsworthy"- it's something that catches people's attention, affects a large and is ocnsidered a larger societal issue. Sometimes it is so on its own merit, and sometimes the news pushes it to become so.

I agree with popeye1250....makes me wonder "how"....but any case while it could be fun to embarras vice president Cheney, I think family and siblings should be left out of the political mud slinging as they have nothing to do with Cheney's career, its silly like a vendetta against the family of a dictator, and taking it out on them when they had nothing to do with the actions of one family member.

I don't much care how it happened, but I am very happy for her and wish her the best. I have yet to be able to figure out how he as a father has supported Bush in any of his discrimination in the constitution attempts.... then again, not sure how she supported her father and Bush's campaign either. Sheesh. Perhaps she went the traditional way (lesbians have been known to do that in order to conceive), perhaps she used a donation from a family friend + turkey baster (a la Ethridge's former partner), perhaps it's invitro. Why does it matter how she became pregnant? She and her partner of 15 years are having a baby, good for them.

In fact there was an article in the NYTimes magazine several weeks ago about gay/lesbian families and the many interesting ways they have managed to conceive and have children. Very interesting and complex issue actually.

it doesn't matter....maybe you missed the last sentence of my post? in any case I was half joking I am aware of modern science, even though invitro isn't my thing....and hence it made me wonder, why is everyone so jumpy over my not so politically correct comments? not the end of the world.[;)]

I'm not jumpy. I'm surprised that men don't understand the mechanics or conception. But I guess it's more a female thing. [:D]

One thing I am not is jumpy, I have barely moved in 45 minutes and my ass is getting sore. I just gave some info/an opinion about a subject that caught my eye.
