It's difficult to mention a potential a scammer on here without violating the ToS, but I'll do my best to do it without outright naming names.

Tonight, I received a message on the other side from a Female Slave, 29 in Miami Beach, asking me to write back to one of two free webmail addresses.  My suspicions were aroused because the email was completely generic -- did not refer to common interests, did not demonstrate that she had read my profile, did not address the question of why a woman in Miami Beach is contacting a guy all the way up in Canada, and, most oddly for someone who has taken the 'slave' descriptor, did not refer to BDSM practices in any way.

Her profile consisted solely of the words "I'm so lonely" and had been up for less than a day.  No BDSM practices on the Interest list.

The combination of these various incongruities (and a few others) suggested strongly to me that this person is spamming the site, and that those who respond to the email addresses she gives will quickly find their addresses being sold to spam lists for porn sites, dating services, and penis enlargement.

Maybe I'm paranoid, but my suspicion is that there's at least fifty other guys on here who have received the very same message from the same individual.  Am I right?  Anyone else?

An oddity about dialling codes here in the UK is that a what appears to be a cell number can actually be set so that the subscriber recieves money for calls made to that number

Luckily cell/personal numbers whilst expensive are not the worst here. There was a pretty good scam here where a "damsel in distress" would ask if they could make a call having lost their phone, and then call a premium rate number for a few minutes and often not disconnect, so folks would just slip their phone back in a pocket all the while it was calling at anything up to a couple of pounds a minute.

Edited to add, fortunately(?) Im way too much of a cynic and sceptic to be easily had. The biggest problem I have come across I mentioned in a thread elsewhere, and that is folks asking for help with rent/bills/clothes for children etc after what I would consider too short a time. Whilst Im normally a generous person I tend to restrict my generosity in greater things to either true friends that I know and respect, or where I can be certain I am doing good rather than just lining pockets or buying favours
