Sorry but I'm not getting it.

This person steals copyright music and images to produce a ploddingly literal flash "animation" full of "I can't really give a shit trying to make this matter" messages, distributes it on the University of Chicago's servers and asks for DONATIONS to his education?

Actually I have to agree with Zensee. It should be pulled simply because he is violating numerous copyrights. It is not justified no matter how you look at it. Not to mention his little "dialogue" throughout the whole thing I actually found to be rather childish and retarded. The last thing I noticed is that he used Flash MX, which he claims he actually bought, hard to say one way or the other, and that program is capable of so much, yet the effort that was put into that video was amateurish at very best.

I did not enjoy it either. I did, though, find it amusing that he took all that trouble to go through the lyrics and find every single picture on Google. That must have taken him quite a while.

I tend to look at it as more a tribute than a copyright infringement. I mean seriously, this has been around long enough, that if Mr Joel had an issue with it, he would have taken action.

As for the images, if you also consider that copyright infringement, then half the people on the forums would be guilty of such also, each time they use some one elses image in their avatars.

This piece is an iconic summary of the people and events that we've witnessed in our generations lifetime. No less...no more. No harm...no foul...

Ya know, I had never liked that song or even listened to the words or the meaning. After this clip however, I understand it. The images...the past...the events....the history...I felt moved by it actually.

Zensee" I didnt see the part where anyone asked for donations. Where was that? If he made it for that reason, I think that sort of takes something away from the ethics of the person who made it, but it doesnt take away from the 'piece of work' itself. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the timing of the photos against the lyrics was impeccable.
