They were units in which future prime ministers served?

Not what I was thinking.

Do they all wear those big bearskin hats?

Do they all take part in Trooping the Colour?

Last guess: They all guard the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior?

FullCircle -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/13/2008 12:31:24 PM)

No sorry dc.

dcnovice -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/13/2008 12:33:44 PM)

Well, I'm gonna give other folks a chance. If no one solves it by when you log out today, please reveal the answer and post a new quartet. Thanks.

FullCircle -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/13/2008 12:42:33 PM)

Sure if I remember otherwise you can just post a new set tomorrow maybe.

FullCircle -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/13/2008 1:04:53 PM)

OK OK

It's hard to know what to do in these situations because you never know when someone is going to come along with the specific knowledge required for the answer. I suppose though this was a big ask and no new people seem to be trying so:

By tradition they are the only British Army regiments that are allowed to march through the City of London with bayonets fixed and Colours flying.
See the answer is easy when you know it.[:D]

This question below should be easier. Think buildings, think occasions.

Red, Black and Green
Yellow and White
Lavender and White
Blue

(edit: match=march)

dcnovice -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/13/2008 1:13:19 PM)

Colors of political parties? Draperies at an inauguration?

FullCircle -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/13/2008 1:14:23 PM)

Kind of, think buildings.

dcnovice -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/13/2008 1:16:22 PM)

Spotlights on the Empire State Building?

FullCircle -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/13/2008 1:17:28 PM)

Well done correct you are do you know what each arrangement represents?

or do you want to know?

dcnovice -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/13/2008 1:19:08 PM)

My guess would be

Red, Black and Green = Something to do with Mandela
Yellow and White = Papal visit
Lavender and White = Gay Pride Day
Blue = Don't know

FullCircle -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (1/13/2008 1:20:11 PM)

I'm kind of curious now how they have a black light?[:D]

Red, Black and Green = Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
Yellow and White = Spring, Easter Week
Lavender and White = Stonewall Anniversary, Gay Pride
Blue = Police Memorial Day, Child Abuse Prevention.
