ORIGINAL: Level All four have or will play in the BCS? Doubt that's it, or you'd have listed Cincinnati too. Well, it is a quartet, not a quintet, and yes, you are right about the frogs/toads. I may be wrong, but isn't Cincinnati a BCS school? I'll give you the win though just to get a new quartet going.....the four in the quartet are all non-BCS schools from non-BCS conferences that managed to earn berths in the big money BCS bowls. Most of the controversy surrounds the bowl series as it is now since many people think that a playoff would be more fair in deciding who actually ends the season as #1. After the bowls in...I think it was '07...Boise State was the only university to end the season undefeated after beating the Sooners in the Fiesta bowl, and many thought they should have been ranked #1. Now, this year, both TCU and BSU have earned berths in the bowls. TCU feels they should be playing Florida for the #1 spot. BSU wants to again play one of the "Big Boys". Instead, the BCS officials put both non-BCS schools in the same bowl against each other...like being seated at the little kids table at Christmas dinner. And that is the controversy....bowl vs. playoff. So far, when the little guys (mid-majors) have played in a BCS bowl they have won 3 out of 4 times. Utah won twice. Boise won once. Hawaii lost. This is the first year for TCU to get a berth making up the 4th of the quartet.
