‘Million Dollar Quartet’ to Move Into the Nederlander By PATRICK HEALY New York Times "Arts Beat" November 3, 2009 The next tenant for Broadway’s Nederlander Theater was announced late Tuesday afternoon: The new musical “Million Dollar Quartet,” based on a 1956 recording session that brought together Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley. A publicity statement announcing the production said that preview performances would begin March 13, 2010, and that opening night would be sometime in April. The show, which is now running in Chicago, will be directed by Eric Schaeffer and includes a book by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux and several songs by the musicians. Casting is underway. The revival of Neil Simon’s “Brighton Beach Memoirs” closed on Sunday night at the Nederlander. And with that explanation....it's your turn, sunshine. [and incidentally..."Brighton Beach Memoirs" closed unexpectedly after about a week--good reviews, poor attendance]
