Nothing to do with food.  Remember, I asked Hiltie to step up... It probably has something to do with one of his areas of expertise, not mine.

ETA: Current quartet

Minnesota
Sicily
Georgia
New York

Does it have to do with music?

fluffypet61 -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (11/9/2009 1:36:47 PM)

Birth places of the Golden Girls in the TV series.

Minnesota - Rose Nyland of St. Olaf, Minnesota
Sicily - Sophia Petrillo born in Sicily, moved to New York
Georgia - Blanche Devereaux grew up on a plantation "Twin Oaks" just outside Atlanta, Georgia
New York - Dorothy Zbornak raised in Brooklyn, New York by Sophia and Salvatore (see Sicily above)

And here I was thinking it was the stages of an online BDSM relationship.

While dc certainly has a point, angelika has pegged that lemony snicket of an author to a series of unfortunate events.

It is my sad duty to inform you that it is now her turn.

angelikaJ -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (11/10/2009 5:33:52 AM)

Laura Lee Hope
Victor Appleton
Franklin W. Dixon
Carolyn Keene

(I am interested to see if you can do it without Google.)

fluffypet61 -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (11/10/2009 5:54:03 AM)

That is true, they were popular during that time although the publication of some of them began much earlier.
But they have something specific in common.

Not that either.

fluffypet61 -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (11/10/2009 1:41:34 PM)

Each author name is actually a number of authors writting under the same name?

Wolf2Bear -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (11/10/2009 1:46:23 PM)

Each are creators of newspaper cartoon series

Yes, that is it.
The authors' names were all pseudonyms.

Laura Lee Hope -- The Bobbsey Twins 1904
Victor Appleton -- Tom Swift 1910 (there were 5 sets of series)
Franklin W. Dixon --The Hardy Boys 1927
Caroline Keene -- Nancy Drew 1930

They were all conceived by Edward Stratemeyer, who was head of the Stratemeyer Syndicate, which was the first book packaging company to aim it's books at children.
Fluffy, your turn.
