Although I think his theory is outdated. It needs to be restated. Do you guys think the need for internet access should be above or below the need for love and belonging?

LOL! You are correct Panda, they are all levels in Maslow's heirarchy of needs. They are in ascending order, with the most basic ones at the bottom. The one at the top, self-realization, or self-actualization, is the goal of mine and my slave's life (D/s and otherwise). Its about becoming more and more yourself with each passing day. Reaching your full potential. Living your authentic life. The life you were born for.

I'll try to post the graphic in here, and if it doesn't work I'll post the link.

WOW It worked! Okay if you follow this link, it has a whole page about self-actualization, and the characteristics of self- actualized people. And if you go to the prior page in the link, there's this pyramid and an explanation of the lower levels of the heirarchy, and how they build on one another. I think Maslow did add another level at the very top eventually, calling it transcendence or somesuch.

That doesn't surprise me in the least, and I've read enough of your posts to know that you're probably closer to that goal than almost anyone else I can think of on this site. Good luck to both of you, and congratulations on what you're building together. You're very fortunate people, in my opinion.

OK, then, I guess it's my turn. Let's try this one....

John Tyler
Millard Fillmore
Theodore Roosevelt
Calvin Coolidge

offeredup -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (4/22/2009 11:06:19 PM)

If i remember right, Tyler, Fillmore, Teddy Roosevelt and Coolige all were vice presidents who took over from Presidents who died in office.

You do remember right! Nice work. I knew there was a history buff lurking around here somewhere. Your turn!
