LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (3/22/2009 9:19:41 AM)

Aylee answered the last quartet correctly.

dcnovice -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (3/22/2009 9:20:23 AM)

Chefs who have competed on Iron Chef?

Aylee -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (3/22/2009 6:25:53 PM)

Close enough.  They ARE the Iron Chefs.

Your turn!

Emerson

hejira92 -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (3/22/2009 7:25:30 PM)

I know, but I cheated via google.

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (3/22/2009 9:49:20 PM)

I know without Google, but I don't have another quartet.

YoursMistress -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (3/22/2009 10:29:57 PM)

I'll make up a foursome if you answer it without help.  [:D]

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (3/22/2009 10:38:30 PM)

Ooooooh, team  work.

They're characters in murder mysteries by Elizabeth Peters.  The main characters are Amelia & Emerson & they're archeologists.  Ramses is their son.  I can't quite recall how Walter figures in.

YoursMistress -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (3/22/2009 10:41:09 PM)

Well, none of the judges is online.  Can we trust you to verify the veracity of your answers?

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (3/22/2009 10:46:18 PM)

This link should help with that:

YoursMistress -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (3/22/2009 10:55:01 PM)

hmmm, everything seems to checkout that the names are characters in the Amelia Peabody series by Elizabeth Peters.  Well done !! (the link did seem to be very ready?!?!)

True that the link was easy enough to find by googling the author's name, which wasn't in the list.  I've actually enjoyed lots of the books in the series.  They're kinda fun, escapist fluff.

YoursMistress -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (3/23/2009 7:50:04 AM)

I'm off to work for the day.  The person who wrote me cmail with the answer (wink) was correct.  Please proceed without me.

yours

4 properties of a quark!

As long as we're in a scientific mood, how about::

Ganymede
Io
Europa
Callisto

There's an easy answer, and a slightly harder one. I'm holding out for the harder one.

MadAxeman -> RE: What Do These Things Have In Common? (3/23/2009 10:05:38 AM)

The four largest moons of Jupiter?
Which I am guessing is the easy answer.

Is the 'slightly' harder answer that they were the first celestial objects discovered through using a telescope. By Galileo?
