houndguy -> Rude and offensive e-mails (2/11/2005 6:22:46 PM)

This is addressed to the "gentlemen" out there that send our submissive ladies rude or offensive e-mails. Don't do it. Just because someone is submissive doesn't mean you don't treat them like dirt. Yes, I know that some submissives enjoy that sort of thing. Shouldn't you get to them them first however?

And yes, as Doms we deserve and demand respect. But show some respect, some restraint. We often say that submission is a gift. We need to accept that gift in the spirit in which it is given. I have heard story after story of rude and offensive e-mails from submissives. That's not being a Dom. That's just being an asshole. Grow up or get out of the lifestyle.

That's my two cents...take it for what it's worth.

hound,

I've a friend who says submission is a privilege, domination is a gift. I suppose it's all a matter of perspective.

Ok, so I'm not on point. Sue me.

My lawyer will call your lawyer. They'll do lunch.

Maybe I'm not in the best mood tonight (actually I'm in a really lousy dark mood) but the point is this. To many submissive women are getting rude and downright arrogent e-mails from the wanna-be's. My sub showed me a few she recieved and I nearly killed the guy that sent them.

At a munch recently a sub broke down in tears telling how she recieved a very distrubing e-mail. I know many of the sub women simply ignore the e-mails or block someone. But they shouldn't have to go that far.

Wow, I gotta say that this would be a HUGE red flag for me. It's words on a screen, and you have all the control in the world to make it disappear and stop it from ever coming back. You don't have to read things that you find offensive/upsetting/inappropriate; all it takes is one little click on that "X" in the upper right corner of the window to make it dissapear from your existance.

For someone to get so upset over an email from a stranger (my assumption that it's a stranger sending unsolicited email, based on the OP, though I acknowledge that I could be wrong here....blame the appletini again) seems way over the top to me. That just looks like way too much baggage going on under the surface for me to want to deal with it, even peripherally.

It's email folks. Read it or not; that's up to you. Delete it. Block the sender. Send a nasty response. You have ALL the control in the world when it comes to your inbox. Exercise a little of it.

(and FWIW, this is NOT limited to submissive women. I get just as many, if not more, offensive emails from submissive men as from dominant ones. Same applies, regardless of role.)

SirEbonyPhoenix -> RE: Rude and offensive e-mails (8/13/2007 7:59:24 PM)

To me, having recieved a rude e-mail from a female submssive earlier today, the soultion is simple: ignore the jerk and delete their disrespectful message.This way, one doesn't have to get into a useless, back and forth arguement with an obviously ignorant jackass (or in this case, a janeass, which in the dictionary is defined as a female donkey). And that's my .99 cents on this topic.

LOL I want to know exactly how Hound dug up THIS thread, that's so old AND then felt the need to respond to it?

Uh oh!!....Do you hear the cyber sirens wailing in the distance?.....Run...houndguy...Run!!!  The guy that you thought you almost killed? He unfortunately slid into an online coma....And passed away just minutes ago....You are a wanted man!!! The crime...Domicide!!   Caries a sentence of life behind bars w/o the possibility of pussy or parole!

All because you and your thin skinned sub couldn't just block and ignore....You had to come out here and comment about how some people you do not know, will never ever meet have whipped you up into a frenzied tizzy...So this is how a twue Dom acts....Very impressive!!

As far as the sub who broke down at the munch because she received a disturbing e-mail.....I would personally like to kick her right in the box for acting like such a cunt.

I feel better...It's almost like I took a big dump or something.

Edited to add......Fuck!.... Fuck!!... Fuck!!!.....The thread is a zillion fucking years old.....Goddamit! I feel like my talents have been abused......Motherfuckers!! You will pay, you all will pay!!....I am making an "official Cm public announcement"...As of this moment ....SirEbonyPheonix...Consider yourself Blocked!!!!

becca333 -> RE: Rude and offensive e-mails (8/14/2007 12:24:08 AM)

Look on the bright side, here.

You could have met this person online.  Chatted, played in cyber, talked on the phone - spent months getting to know them.  Then spent hundreds on plane/train/bus tickets going to meet them, stayed with them, played with them, and THEN found out they were a total jerk.

One simple email has told you all you need to know about the person, and saved you from wasting months of your time and hundreds of dollars.

See?  Those emails are wonderful - think of them as jerk detectors.

Aileen68 -> RE: Old thread alert!!! Rude and offensive e-mails (8/14/2007 2:42:52 AM)

Ok...I can understand when people revive old threads about technical stuff...shibari or knife play, etc.  But why does someone revive a rant about rude emails????  Don't we have to wade through enough recent ones like that?  Check the dates before you post!!!!!!  Especially if you don't recognize any of the names of the posters in the begining of the thread.
*rant over*
you are all blocked for the next five minutes.

Politesub53 -> RE: Old thread alert!!! Rude and offensive e-mails (8/14/2007 3:27:28 AM)

See what happens when people keep saying use the search function [:D]

sophia37 -> RE: Old thread alert!!! Rude and offensive e-mails (8/14/2007 7:54:09 AM)

yadda yadda yadda.  Lets now open the hymnals to page 123 and sing the following song together.

SeanPony -> RE: Old thread alert!!! Rude and offensive e-mails (8/14/2007 9:18:50 AM)

Sometimes it's great to send random people messages telling them to Fuck off and get a good Rage going Hahah

I would rather think that as Doms, we Earn respect. Ok, that's probably off the topic, but then again, it might point to the root of the problem.

MastersMaiden -> RE: Rude and offensive e-mails (8/14/2007 2:14:05 PM)

I understand the OP's point, although i also understand the other points made here as well...as a sub, i HATE getting rude emails from wanna-be's, and it angers my Master that these people have no respect for others. However, W/we are of the block and ignore persuasion...although it also gives U/s something to laugh about later too. i mean, most of those people cant even spell :)

echoharmony -> RE: Rude and offensive e-mails (8/14/2007 2:14:25 PM)

^I was just going to say. Just because you call yourself a Dom does not mean you deserve respect. I don't care who you are, you get respect the same way anyone else does. you EARN it.

I get rude emails all the time. Usually random people calling me slut or just insulting my pictures or profile. I tell them to sod off, I block them, and I move on. *lol*

SmokingGun82 -> RE: Rude and offensive e-mails (8/14/2007 2:20:06 PM)

I think the funniest thing is when someone's profile threatens not to email "or else you'll deal with my Master!"

I don't email them, because obviously they don't want to be bothered... but I do wonder what "or else" would entail.

SoftKajira -> RE: Rude and offensive e-mails (8/14/2007 3:24:49 PM)

lol smoking. I always wondered what the or else entails as well. Maybe I'll ask one of those who puts that in their profile.

celticlord2112 -> RE: Rude and offensive e-mails (8/14/2007 3:42:18 PM)

In my opinion, civility in communication is a basic gesture of ordinary respect; it is the essence of good manners.

However, the libertarian/anarchist in Me cringes at the idea of anyone establishing a uniform ethic or morality on these message boards. I would rather deal with honest assholes than censors.  The asshole I can easily block when needed.

I understand what you're saying, but I don't agree with your message.
