I'd simply say act vanilla but that's just my opinion and 2 cents, perhapds more of a cent.

This whole idea of needing the consent of casual onlookers is crap! The term consentual in the SSC refers to those in the BDSM relationship, not to the rest of the frigging world. Do whatever the hell you want - you want to get into a face-slapping scene in McDonald's? Go for it, but bear in mind that your ass will be in jail faster than you can say Jack Daniels. Why? because you will be charged with assault, or domestic abuse, creating a disturbance, or at the least public nuisance. If that consequence is fine with you and yours, then go for it, hell flip her skirt up and paddle her naked ass on the courthouse steps if you want, but accept responsibility for what you do.
In the context of the OP - play away to your heart's content, but be prepared to lose the friendship of the vanilla couple, or depending on what is meant by "playing" be prepared to be thrown out of the restaurant, or to get your ass kicked by an outraged onlooker, or even to spend the night in jail.

P.S. Consensual means by consensus, the word you want is consenTual.

I appreciate all of your advice and suggestions. What to do what not to do, etc. Yes I think that giving him a mock dinner would be great. And I do realize that there will be other vanilla people in the room, making him do things such as the ear whispering for use of bathroom is an excellent idea. He is into cross-dressing, so we can go shopping for a great pair of nice lacy floral underwear for him to wear, not sure how the bathroom will go, but oh well. Again thanks to all for the great advice.
