I was reading a thread and it mentioned alanis morissette(spelling). It got me thinking how odd it is that I like alanis's music when typically I prefer hard rock  and if anything alanis would be over-emotional chic music for the most part.  So, I started thinking about the other oddball stuff I like that most people wouldn't attribute to me because of my general tastes.

Just curious really to what other stuff people like that is totally in opposition to there usual tastes.

Odd things I like
Alanis
Gymnastics. LOL.
Make-over shows even that queer eye show a few times, embarassing[:(]
Bingo is enjoyable.

okay I'm stopping before I sound like a complete woman.

I absolutely love romantic, period movies like Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, The Piano.  Movies like that.  My normal choice is usually in the order of action/adventure or thriller.  So it's a big contrast.

~laughing outright~ You know, it is good to see a Dom who is so at home in His masculinity that He can admit such things and not be threatened by it.

My guilty pleasures are Stephen King novels, nighttime shows about ghosts (I have to watch a few minutes of cartoons in order to not be tweaked at bedtime), and my seemingly opposite personality at work (not at all submissive, and in fact, quite dominant.)

1.  I LOVE the Golden Girls.
2.  I have this thing for Madonna, Olivia Newton John, and 80's girl-pop.
3.  I think that prison movies are pretty freakin' awesome.
4.  I get all sappy when I listen to this.

As much as I hate drama and love people who are really looking at the life and taking responsibility for it and the messes they create, I SO love the emo boys. The tragic, misunderstood emo boys. Oh, and I secretly like a LOT of disco. And potted meat. Yeah, I know...ewwww...but damn, it's good on a cracker. Redneck pate.

Hmmmmmmm, guilty unexpected pleasure.....thinking....

I have really eclectic tastes and those that know me well are used to it so it would be hard to surprise them.

Music - I would say that most people would not expect me to listen to old country (not the icky new pop crap) and enjoy it.

TV - I just love sneaking in an occasional episode of "The Girls Next Door"

Books - I actually read a cheesy romance novel my daughter left here the other day. It only took a few hours to read but it was kinda nice to read something that took zero thought process. Fortunately it had no explicit sex scenes to gag me.

I'm such an idiosyncratic person that saying something is idiosyncratic for me is almost redundant.  I hate chocolate milk but I love chocolate milkshakes.

i own those movies. Add musicals, and english humor and i am one happy camper.

i also love "Gilmore Girls" though they talk too fast and about shallow things.

Amen. I think cats are second only to women for being the coolest creatures on the planet. I think a lot of people who knew me would be surprised to know that when I get home from work, I sit down in my chair, my cat jumps up on me, I pet him and say, "how my wittle putty tooty today?"

I am definitely eclectic in many areas which is why I believe nobody understands me (I have been "accused" of being both a liberal and a conservative on these boards). In movies I might watch "Master and Commander, Far Side of the World," one night and "Fly Away Home," the next. In music the same thing, I like ‘80's heavy metal – I also like ABBA and Neil Diamond.

As for gymnastics, would that be male gymnastics, female gymnastics, or both? I could care less about male gymnastics but I love female gymnastics. But that’s only because I enjoy watching vitally healthy young women, in skin tight skimpy outfits, prance and twirl around. Same goes for women’s figure skating.

Yep, same here.. and Most Haunted and TAPS :)
And the local Pets on Parade by the AZ Humane Society on Sunday afternoons.
