Termyn8or -> RE: gasoline mishaps... (11/8/2006 5:16:57 PM)

There is hope for the washer, if you can get your hands on a bunch of methyl alcohol. I'm pretty sure one of the brands of "Dry gas" contains it, but that would be expensive. Methyl alcohol seems to supply like a "bridge" so water can dissolve in gas. I would not recommend mixing the alcohol with anything like bleach or detergent. In fact is you can get a bunch of it, wash everything affected in it. In fact it would be good to throw some in during the spin cycle. This will make it spray on the walls of the outer tub. Afterwards run it a few times on full capacity, but empty, except maybe for the smelly clothes. I hope everything affected can stand hot water, it will work better. You think you got it bad with gasoline ? try used transmission fluid. Motor oil is worse as well. If you can't get your hands on copious amounts of methyl or vinegar, dry run the machine on high level full hot numerous times. It will clear eventually. And let this be a lesson to you, get fuel on the way TO the bar. You could get busted if they see you doing this at a well lit gas station. My last DUI was $2,300 and that was a fantastic deal, the fix was in. T
