DiurnalVampire -> RE: new subs - male & female (11/8/2006 10:38:38 PM)

Personaly, I have no references, aside from the one pet I have now.  Those I had previously would never vouch for me with a new prospect.  I am not active in the scene locally either.
I am also not crazy enough to give anyone my vital stats before a first meeting.  A license has entirely too much info on it for someone to need to have before I meet.
I have been doing this for years, and as a Domme, I still value my safety. Just becasue someone is submissive, doesnt mean they are at a lower risk of danger on a first meeting. In general, women hve to be careful when meeting someone new. Meeting in public is one good way, another is reembering to KEEP it that way until you are fairly sure the person is safe.  Meeting in public for coffee then running off to a private room right afterwards is still not a good idea. You need to build a degree of trust with someone before you put yourself in their hands, and a realistic one, not just a hookup one. In our lifestyle of choice, there are to many things we are putting ourself inline for to allow someone you arent confident with at you.
With that said, safe calls are only as good as the abilit to use them.  depending on that is like depending on a safeword to save you... if you cannot get at a phone a safe call is of no more use to you than anything else. Stay safe when meeting, and some meetings can be fantastic.  Just keep your head on your shoulders, and out of your pants.

QuietDom -> RE: new subs - male & female (11/9/2006 9:35:24 AM)

Two different subs have, at one time, met me in a very unsafe manner.  The first came directly to my home, alone, with only a safe call for protection.  The second met me for coffee, and after an hour decided that she knew me well enough to come home with me, with no safe call set up.  Neither came to any harm, but, had I been somebody else, the outcomes could have been very different.

The moral of the story is clearly that safety-minded novice subs should come submit to ME, or, for those for whom that isn't feasible, take appropriate precautions.  I endorse the first course of action as significantly less complicated, though.

(That's right, just take a number... no pushing...)
